Salford Business School is located 3 km west of Manchester city centre in the Maxwell Building on the Peel Park Campus of the University of Salford. As a business school it offers business management courses, business services and business focused research. It is one of the university's four constituent schools. The range of business and management studies degrees includes pre-masters courses, undergraduate programmes, postgraduate taught and research degrees up to PhD level. It places equal emphasis on teaching, research and academic enterprise measured by National Student Survey and Research Assessment Exercise results. The City of Salford () is a metropolitan borough within Greater Manchester, England. The borough is named after its main settlement, Salford. West Yorkshire Police
West Yorkshire Police is the territorial police force responsible for policing the metropolitan county of West Yorkshire, England. It is the fourth largest territorial police force in England and Wales by number of officers. History West Yorkshire Police was formed in 1974, when part of the West Yorkshire Constabulary (itself created in 1968, and covering a much larger area) was amalgamated with the Leeds City Police and Bradford City Police, under the Local Government Act 1972. The force was originally known as the West Yorkshire Metropolitan Police. Some older signs around the Force area, such as the one in the reception of Millgarth Police Station in Leeds city centre, read 'West Yorkshire Metropolitan Police'. Colin Cramphorn
Colin Ralph Cramphorn CBE, QPM, DL, FRSA (1 April 1956 – 30 November 2006) was the Chief Constable of West Yorkshire Police from September 2002 to November 2006. Colin Cramphorn was educated at Strode's Grammar School, Egham, before joining the Surrey Constabulary in 1975. In September 1981 he went as a Bramshill scholar to the Faculty of Law (as it then was), King's College London, to study for the LL.B., and successfully graduated in June 1984. In 1995 he was appointed an Assistant Chief Constable with West Mercia Constabulary. In 1998 he moved to the Royal Ulster Constabulary and he was briefly Acting Chief Constable of the RUC's successor, the Police Service of Northern Ireland, prior to the appointment of Sir Hugh Orde in May 2002. MediaCityUK is a mixed-use property development on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal in Salford, Greater Manchester, England. The project was developed by Peel Media; its principal tenants are media organisations and the Quayside MediaCityUK shopping centre. The land occupied by the development was part of the Port of Manchester and Manchester Docks. The BBC signalled its intention to move jobs to Manchester in 2004, and the Salford Quays site was chosen in 2006.
