Saleema
Kaleeshwari Devi (born 4 November 1970) better known by her stage name Saleema is an Indian actress who predominantly acts in Malayalam films. She is best known for her portrayal of Ammini in ''Aranyakam'' and Lakshmi in ''Nakhakshathangal''. She is the daughter of Telugu actress Girija. Background She made her Malayalam debut with ''Nakhakshathangal'' in 1986. She had acted in a few Tamil, Kannada and Telugu movies as well. She remained largely invisible in the film industry for many years. She made her comeback to Malayalam film industry through '' Munthiri Monchan: Oru Thavala Paranja Kadha'' in 2019. ''Aranyakam'' (Malayalam:ആരണ്യകം, English:Forest) is a 1988 Malayalam film, directed by Hariharan, written by M. T. Vasudevan Nair and starring Saleema, Devan and Vineeth. The film was produced by B. Sasikumar. The music was composed by Raghunath Seth, with lyrics by O. N. V. Kurup and vocals by K. J. Yesudas and K. S. Chitra. It is about a teenage girl named Ammini who likes to visit forests and has a hobby of writing imaginary letters to famous people. Actress Saleema memorably portrays Ammini. Dasari Girija ( 3 March 1938 – 5 September 1995) was an Indian actress who has worked in Telugu films. She was active in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s in comic roles. She appeared in many films with Relangi, the two of them becoming a famous comedic duo. Film career She was born on 3 March 1938 in Kankipadu, Andhra Pradesh. Her mother is also staging and film actress Dasari Ramatilakam. Her first movie was Kasturi Sivarao's ''Paramanandayya Sishyulu'' (1950). ''Andha Oru Nimidam'' () is a 1985 Tamil-language thriller film directed and written by Major Sundarrajan. The film stars Kamal Haasan and Urvashi while Jayamalini, Thengai Srinivasan and Pandari Bai play supporting roles. It was released on 31 May 1985.
