Salaberry—Suroît is a federal electoral district in Quebec. It encompasses a portion of Quebec formerly included in the electoral districts of Beauharnois—Salaberry (76%) and Vaudreuil-Soulanges (24%). Salaberry—Suroît was created by the 2012 federal electoral boundaries redistribution and was legally defined in the 2013 representation order. It came into effect upon the call of the 42nd Canadian federal election, scheduled for 19 October 2015. Profile The Bloc dominates the north of the riding, in areas such as Beauharnois, Salaberry-de-Vallefield and Les Coteaux. Vaudreuil—Soulanges is a federal electoral district in Quebec, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1914 to 1968 and since 1997. It consists of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Regional County Municipality. The neighbouring ridings are Argenteuil—La Petite-Nation, Lac-Saint-Louis, Salaberry—Suroît, Stormont—Dundas—South Glengarry, and Glengarry—Prescott—Russell. Huntingdon is a small town in Huntingdon County in the Haut-Saint-Laurent Regional County Municipality and the Montérégie region of the province of Quebec, Canada. The population as of the Canada 2011 Census was 2,457. The town is southwest of Montreal, and from the border with New York State. Les Coteaux is a municipality in Vaudreuil-Soulanges Regional County Municipality in the Montérégie region of Quebec, Canada. It is located north of the Saint Lawrence River and Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. It was formed from the merger in 1994 of Coteau-Station (north of Autoroute 20) and Coteau-Landing (south of Autoroute 20). Prior to 1985, Coteau-Station had been known as Station-du-Coteau. History Coteau-Landing was the historic location at the upper end of rapids on the St. Lawrence River where canoeing and boating parties had to land in order to portage around the rapids. Albert De Martin (born February 20, 1951) is a politician from Quebec, Canada. He was an Action démocratique du Québec Member of the National Assembly for the electoral district of Huntingdon from 2007 to 2008. Ormstown is a municipality in Quebec, Canada, which is situated on the Chateauguay River in the heart of the Chateauguay Valley. It is approximately one hour southwest of Montreal and 20 minutes north of New York State in the United States. Saint-Polycarpe () is a municipality located in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Regional County Municipality in the Montérégie region west of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and just east of the Quebec-Ontario border. It was named for Polycarp, a 2nd-century bishop of Smyrna. The population as of the 2021 Canadian Census was 2,372. Coteau-du-Lac is a small city in southwestern Quebec, Canada. It is on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Regional County Municipality. Salaberry-de-Valleyfield is a city in southwestern Quebec, Canada, in the Regional County Municipality of Beauharnois-Salaberry. The population as of 2019 was 42,410.
