FK Sakuona is a Lithuanian football team from Plikiai in Klaipėda region. History The first football club in Plikiai was established in 1919 under the name ''SV Plicken''. The current club was established in 1988 and called Švyturys, by the name of kolkhoz where it was located. After the independence, the club was renamed to SK Plikiai in 1992. Recently, for sponsorship reasons the club bore names ''Sakuona'' and ''Rūgpienių kaimas''. FK Plikiai won 2001/2002 the LFF III Lyga championship and were promoted to the LFF II Lyga. Klaipėda
Klaipėda (; ; german: Memel; pl, Kłajpeda; russian: Клайпеда; sgs, Klaipieda) is a city in Lithuania on the Baltic Sea coast. A kolkhoz ( rus, колхо́з, a=ru-kolkhoz.ogg, p=kɐlˈxos) was a form of collective farm in the Soviet Union. II Lyga
Lithuanian Football Federation's II lyga, LFF II lyga – the third tier Lithuanian football championship. As of 2021, the II lyga is a single league, consisting of planned 16 teams. The two top teams gain promotion to the I Lyga. Until the end of 2020 season the league consisted of the Southern Zone and the Western Zone. The Northern Zone and the Eastern Zone existed in some past seasons, but were done away with due to the dwindling number of participating clubs. League Structure Southern Zone The zone has existed since 1999 until 2020. Kaunas County Football Federation was in charge of the competition in this zone. The Lithuanian Football Federation Cup ( lt, Lietuvos futbolo federacijos taurė), also known as Hegelmann LFF Cup for sponsorship reasons, is a Lithuanian football cup competition contested in a knockout tournament format. The winner of the cup gains entitlement to participate in the Lithuanian Supercup as well as the UEFA Europa Conference League.
