Saint Joseph's Church, Envigado
The Saint Joseph, St Joseph's Church (in spanish language, Spanish, ''Iglesia de San José'') is a simple Gothic revival architecture, gothic revival Roman Catholic Church, Roman Catholic Church (building), church located in Colombia, exactly in Envigado, Department of Antioquia, Antioquia; near ''Rosellón'', and old textile factory, and part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Medellín. History A farm beside the highway near the textile factory was donated to the parish by the Rendón sisters, Elvira & Lucrecia. Jesus Antonio Duque, the parson, wanted build a new temple on the farm due to the increment of inhabitants around the factory. St Joseph was elected as patron saint by Duque's secretary because traditionally St Joseph is the lawyer and friend of the workers. Saint Joseph
Joseph (; el, Ἰωσήφ, translit=Ioséph) was a 1st-century Jewish man of Nazareth who, according to the canonical Gospels, was married to Mary, the mother of Jesus, and was the legal father of Jesus. The Gospels also name some brothers of Jesus who may have been: (1) the sons of Mary, the mother of Jesus, and Joseph; (2) sons of Mary, the wife of Clopas and sister of Mary the mother of Jesus; or (3) sons of Joseph by a former marriage. Gothic Revival Architecture
Gothic Revival (also referred to as Victorian Gothic, neo-Gothic, or Gothick) is an architectural movement that began in the late 1740s in England. The movement gained momentum and expanded in the first half of the 19th century, as increasingly serious and learned admirers of the neo-Gothic styles sought to revive medieval Gothic architecture, intending to complement or even supersede the neoclassical styles prevalent at the time. Envigado
Envigado () is a town southeast of Medellín, Colombia in the department of Antioquia. It is located in the Metropolitan Area of the Aburrá Valley. It borders El Poblado, Medellín to the north, Sabaneta to the south, El Retiro and Caldas to the east, and Itagüí to the west. Envigado is known for maintaining the traditions of the Paisa Region and for its architecture.
