St. Hilda's Secondary School (SHSS) is a co-educational government-aided secondary school in Tampines, Singapore, which offers a four to five-year course leading to a GCE 'O' Level and/or a GCE 'N' Level. It was named after the saint Hilda of Whitby and is affiliated with the Anglican Diocese of Singapore. History St. Hilda's traces its origins to a small private school, Bethel English School, founded in 1929 in a small two-storey building at Ceylon Road. It was taken over by the Anglican Diocese of Singapore in 1934, which the school has been affiliated with ever since, and opened as a parochial school for girls. In 1938 it was renamed St. Hilda's School. Priscelia Chan Shih Mei, also known as Zeng Shimei, is a Singaporean television actress and host. Career Chan was a tax auditor before taking part in Star Search Singapore 1999. Despite being eliminated in the semifinals, she was offered a contract by TCS (later MediaCorp). Fiona Xie (谢婉谕, Xie Wanyu; born 24 January 1982) is a Singaporean actress, variety show host, and was named as one of the Seven Princesses of Mediacorp in 2006. Hilda (or Hild) of Whitby (c. 614 – 680) was a Christian saint and the founding abbess of the monastery at Whitby, which was chosen as the venue for the Synod of Whitby in 664.
