Saint-Urbain (Quebec)
Saint-Urbain is a parish municipality located in the Charlevoix Regional County Municipality, in Capitale-Nationale region, in Quebec, Canada. The municipality lies along Quebec Route 381 at the intersection with Quebec Route 138. History Saint-Urbain was one of the localities affected by the 1925 Charlevoix–Kamouraska earthquake. CIMT-DT
CIMT-DT, virtual and VHF digital channel 9, is a TVA- affiliated television station licensed to Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec, Canada. Owned by Télé Inter-Rives, it is part of a twinstick with Noovo affiliate CFTF-DT (channel 29). Both stations share studios on Rue de la Chute and Rue Frontenac in Rivière-du-Loup, while CIMT-DT's transmitter is located near Chemin du Mont Bleu in Picard. History The station was launched on September 17, 1978. The station is part of a rare "triple-stick", owned by Télé Inter-Rives, which also owns CKRT and CFTF. Télé Inter-Rives also owns the TVA affiliate in Carleton-sur-Mer, CHAU-DT. The latter station picks up the TVA signal from CIMT, and the two stations' logos are shown in promos. Alice Vinette
Alice Vinette (24 April 1894 - 17 March 1989) was a Canadian composer, organist, and nun. Her religious name was Sister Marie-Jocelyne. Vinette was born in Saint-Urbain, Quebec. She studied piano with Romain Octave Pelletier I, organ with Raoul Paquet, composition with Rodolphe Mathieu and Auguste Descarries, and singing with Fleurette Contant. Onésime Gauthier
Onésime Gauthier (December 2, 1834 – June 16, 1886) was a farmer and political figure in Quebec. He represented Charlevoix as a Conservative member from 1875 to 1886. He was born in Saint-Urbain, Charlevoix County, Lower Canada, the son of Michel Gauthier-Larouche and Marie Tremblay, and was educated there. In 1871, he married Mélanie Simard. Gauthier was also an educator, a colonization director and agent for the Canadian Titanic Iron Company Ltd. He served as mayor of Saint-Urbain for several years. 2021 Canadian Census
The 2021 Canadian census was a detailed enumeration of the Canadian population with a reference date of May 11, 2021. It follows the 2016 Canadian census, which recorded a population of 35,151,728. The overall response rate was 98%, which is slightly lower than the response rate for the 2016 census. It recorded a population of 36,991,981, a 5.2% increase from 2016. Planning Consultation on census program content was from September 11 to December 8, 2017. The census was conducted by Statistics Canada, and was contactless as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. The agency had considered delaying the census until 2022.
