Saint-Leu-la-Forêt () is a Communes of France, commune in the Val-d'Oise department, in the northwestern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located from the Kilometre Zero, centre of Paris. History In 1806, the commune of Saint-Leu-la-Forêt merged with the neighboring commune of Taverny, resulting in the creation of the commune of ''Saint-Leu-Taverny''. In 1821, the commune of ''Saint-Leu-Taverny'' was demerged. Thus, Saint-Leu-la-Forêt and Taverny were both restored as separate communes. Louis Bonaparte
Louis Napoléon Bonaparte (born Luigi Buonaparte; 2 September 1778 – 25 July 1846) was a younger brother of Napoleon I, Emperor of the French. He was a monarch in his own right from 1806 to 1810, ruling over the Kingdom of Holland (a French client state roughly corresponding to the current Netherlands). In that capacity he was known as Louis I (Dutch: Lodewijk I ). Louis was the fifth surviving child and fourth surviving son of Carlo Buonaparte and Letizia Ramolino, out of eight children who lived past infancy. He and his siblings were all born on Corsica, which had been conquered by France less than a decade before his birth. Louis followed his older brothers into the French Army, where he benefited from Napoleon's patronage. Sylvie Oussenko (born 5 June 1945) is a contemporary French mezzo-soprano and writer. Biography Born in Saint-Leu-la-Forêt, after a classical baccalaureate degree (Latin-Greek), Oussenko entered the Institut Catholique de Paris, then at the Sorbonne for a degree in philosophy, while taking singing lessons with Paul Derenne, then with in Cologne and drama classes with Dominique Rozan, sociétaire of the Comédie-Française. She made her stage debut in 1977 as Mélisande in Debussy's '' Pelléas et Mélisande'' at Besançon. She worked on the repertoire with vocal coach Irène Aïtoff, with whom she gave her first recital devoted to lieder and melodies by Franz Liszt in 1978: many others followed. Wendlingen is a town in the district of Esslingen in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. It is situated on the Neckar and Lauter rivers, 27 km southeast of Stuttgart. Taverny () is a commune in the northwestern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located from the center of Paris. Inhabitants are called ''Tabernaciens''. History In 1806 the commune of Taverny merged with the neighboring commune of Saint-Leu, resulting in the creation of the commune of ''Saint-Leu-Taverny''. In 1821 the commune of ''Saint-Leu-Taverny'' was demerged. Thus, Taverny and Saint-Leu were both restored as separate communes. Wanda Aleksandra Landowska (5 July 1879 – 16 August 1959) was a Polish harpsichordist and pianist whose performances, teaching, writings and especially her many recordings played a large role in reviving the popularity of the harpsichord in the early 20th century. She was the first person to record Johann Sebastian Bach's ''Goldberg Variations'' on the harpsichord in 1933. She became a naturalized French citizen in 1938.
