Saint-Laurent XIII
Saint-Laurent XIII are a French Rugby league club based in Saint-Laurent-de-la-Salanque, Pyrénées Orientales in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. The club plays in the French National Division 1. Home matches are played at the Stade Jep Maso. History Saint-Laurent de la Salanque as they were originally known were founded in 1956. A club that has always participated at the lower levels of the French Rugby League pyramids, they won their first and so far only trophy in 1982 when they won the Coupe Falcou beating Realmont XIII in the final. The 2006/07 league campaign, competing in the 4th tier National Division 2 they reached their first final but lost to AS Clairac XIII 8-30. A cup run in the Paul Dejean Cup led all the way to the final in 2014 but ended in defeat to Villeghailhenc-Aragon XIII 16-34. Stade Jep Maso
Stade (), officially the Hanseatic City of Stade (german: Hansestadt Stade, nds, Hansestadt Stood) is a city in Lower Saxony in northern Germany. First mentioned in records in 934, it is the seat of the district () which bears its name. It is located roughly to the west of Hamburg and belongs to that city's wider metropolitan region. Coupe Falcou
The Albert Falcou Cup (french: Coupe Albert-Falcou), also called Albert Falcou French Cup (french: Coupe de France Albert-Falcou), is an annual knock-out competition organised by the Fédération Française de Rugby à XIII for amateur rugby league clubs in France. History The competition was introduced in 1937 and was originally known as the French Amateur Cup. The inaugural winners were the short-lived La Rochelle club (during World War II the club was forced to merge with the city's rugby union club, Atlantique Stade Rochelais, by the Vichy Government of the time). When rugby league was legalised again at the end of the war, the cup was re-instituted as the National Cup. This incarnation was contested between 1945 and 1962. Sauveterre de Comminges XIII, nicknamed ''Les Frelons'' (Hornets), are a French Rugby league club based in Sauveterre-de-Comminges, Haute-Garonne, in the Midi-Pyrénées region. They play in the French National Division 1. History The first mention of Les Frelons came in 2006 when the club reached the National Division 2, then called the Federal Division, league final and won 20-14 against former top flight club Tonneins XIII earning themselves promotion. In 2007 they won the Coupe Falcou. In the National Division 1 the club did well they reached the final in 2011 but lost to Tonneins XIII 16-20, who they also lost out to in the Paul Dejean Cup 23-27, the following season they also reached the league final this time they won beating Ornaisons XIII 28-4, and by a massive coincidence they also played Ornaisons XIII in the Paul Dejean Cup final winning 24-16. Villeghailhenc-Aragon XIII
Villegailhenc-Aragon XIII are a semi-professional rugby league team based in Villegailhenc, Aude in Languedoc-Rousillon in southern France. They currently play in the second tier competition the Elite Two Championship. Their home stadium is the Stade Jerome Rieux. History Originally being an amateur club they competed in the French rugby league amateur competition the Federal Championship. In 1987 they reached their first 'Federal Championship' final, now called National Division 2, but lost out to Le Barcares 9-16. In 1993 they once again reached the final but lost again this time to Le Lauquet-Palaja 15-18. By the first decade of the millennium they were still playing in the National Division 2 but that changed when in season 2011/12 they once again reached the final but this time they won beating Le Soler 11-6 and thus clinching promotion. Association Sports Clairacaise XIII who are more commonly known as AS Clairac XIII are a French Rugby league club based in Clairac, Lot-et-Garonne in the Aquitaine region. The club plays in the National Division 2 Aquitaine regional league, which is the 4th tier of Rugby League in France. Home games are played at the Stade Vivens. History The club was founded during the early 1950s and reached the old 2nd Division final in 1958 losing out to US Apt XIII 8-18. In 1971 the club began using its current name AS Clairac XIII and in 1980 they lifted their first trophy when they won the Coupe Falcou. In season 94/95 the club won the Federal Division, nowadays called ''National Division 2'' beating Sainte-Livrade XIII in the final 20-12 but didn't opt for promotion. National Division 2
National Division 2 is the fourth tier of rugby league in France, below the National Division 1. The season runs from September to April. The Division is split into 5 regional leagues, Languedoc-Roussillon, Midi-Pyrenees, Aquitaine, Ile de France and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (PACA). Clubs play each other home and away in their respective regional league with the top clubs progressing into a series of play-off matches to determine the champions. The champions can apply for promotion to the ''National Division 1''. This tier was formerly known as the Federal Championship. Realmont XIII
Realmont XIII are a French rugby league club based in Realmont in the Tarn region of the Midi-Pyrénées. The club plays in the French National Division 1, which is the 3rd tier. The club plays home games at the Stade Claude Andre History The club was founded on 19 December 1935 making it one of the earliest Rugby League sides in France. Playing in regional divisions they were runner-up in 1939 in the Pyrenees Championship and were winners of the Champion du Rouergue in 1946. In 1976 the National 2 league was set up and the club were invited to participate, in 1978 they won the new league beating Sainte-Livrade XIII in the final 14-13. Pyrénées Orientales
The Pyrenees (; es, Pirineos ; french: Pyrénées ; ca, Pirineu ; eu, Pirinioak ; oc, Pirenèus ; an, Pirineus) is a mountain range straddling the border of France and Spain.
