Saint-Ferréol-les-Neiges is a municipality in Quebec, Canada. History First explored in 1693 by Louis Soumande (1652-1706) during a hunting expedition, the first settlers came in 1728 when some families were invited to settle there at the invitation of the area's seigneurial lords, also the leaders of the Seminary of Quebec. In 1801, the Parish of Saint-Ferréol was formed out of the parishes of Saint-Joachim and Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, named after Jean Lyon de Saint-Ferréol (1692-1744), vicar to the Bishop of Quebec. In 1845, the municipality was first founded, abolished in 1847, and reestablished in 1855 as the Parish Municipality of Saint-Féréol. In 1969, it changed status and was renamed to Municipality of Saint-Feréol-les-Neiges. Beaupré, Quebec
Beaupré is a ''ville'' in the Canadian province of Quebec, located in La Côte-de-Beaupré Regional County Municipality. The town is along the Saint Lawrence River and Route 138 at the mouth of the Sainte-Anne-du-Nord River. Mont-Sainte-Anne, the highest skiing station in the eastern part of Canada, is located in Beaupré. It is also one of the town's major sport attractions. History The area has been inhabited since the beginning of the New France colony. Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré is a town in La Côte-de-Beaupré Regional County Municipality, Quebec, Canada, along the Saint Lawrence River, north-east of Quebec City. Saint-Joachim is a parish municipality in Quebec, Canada. It is part of the La Côte-de-Beaupré Regional County Municipality in the Capitale-Nationale region. Located at the foot of Cape Tourmente, it is home to the Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Area and Canyon Sainte-Anne. History The area, first called after Cape Tourmente, is one of the first places of New France to be colonized. In 1628, it was destroyed by the Kirke Brothers but it became an agricultural centre again after 1668 when François de Laval bought land around the cape to establish farms to feed his Seminary of Quebec.
