Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac
Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac is a municipality in Quebec, Canada, situated in the MRC of Témiscouata in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region. The city was created on May 5, 2010 from the mergers of the city of Cabano and Notre-Dame-du-Lac. The new city was called Cabano–Notre-Dame-du-Lac until November 13, 2010. This region is part of traditional Maliseet territory. Geography Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac is situated on the south side of the Saint Lawrence River, at about 260 km from Québec City, and 470 km west of Gaspé. The cities of importance close to Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac are Rivière-du-Loup, at 60 km to the north-west, Trois-Pistoles at 65 km to the north, Rimouski at 110 km north-east, and Edmundston in New Brunswick, at 60 km to the south-west. Saint-Louis-du-Ha! Ha! () is a parish municipality in the Témiscouata Regional County Municipality of the Bas-Saint-Laurent region of Quebec. The population is 1,318. Its economy is mainly agricultural. It is located southeast of Rivière-du-Loup and west of Cabano along the Trans-Canada Highway ( Route 185), about halfway to Edmundston in New Brunswick. History The parish began in 1860 as the site of a Roman Catholic mission; it was named in 1874. In September 2017, the municipality established a Guinness World Record for the "Most exclamation marks in a town name". 2021 Canadian Census
The 2021 Canadian census was a detailed enumeration of the Canadian population with a reference date of May 11, 2021. It follows the 2016 Canadian census, which recorded a population of 35,151,728. The overall response rate was 98%, which is slightly lower than the response rate for the 2016 census. It recorded a population of 36,991,981, a 5.2% increase from 2016. Planning Consultation on census program content was from September 11 to December 8, 2017. The census was conducted by Statistics Canada, and was contactless as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. The agency had considered delaying the census until 2022. About 900 supervisors and 31,000 field enumerators were hired to conduct the door-to-door survey of individuals and households who had not completed the census questionnaire by late May or early June.
