Saima Mohsin
Saima Mohsin is a British Pakistani journalist and presenter born and raised in South London. Most recently she has been an international correspondent for CNN. Career In 2000 Mohsin gained her first job in television joining ITV Meridian as a producer, and later became a presenter/reporter for the station. In 2002, Mohsin joined ''BBC Points West'' as a reporter and presenter. In 2004 she moved to BBC One's ''Watchdog'' - the UK's most watched current affairs show - as an investigative reporter on consumer issues. Mohsin later worked freelance as a newsreader and reporter for BBC News 24, Sky News and ITN. She presented a debate show for Channel 4 on suicide bombings and the future of British Islam following the 7/7 London bombings. British Pakistanis ( ur, (Bratānia men maqīm pākstānī); also known as Pakistani British people or Pakistani Britons) are British people, citizens or residents of the United Kingdom whose ancestral roots lie in Pakistan. Dawn News is one of Pakistan's 24-hour Urdu news channel. Based in Karachi, the station is a subsidiary of Pakistan Herald Publications Limited (PHPL), Pakistan's largest English-language media group. The test transmission of the station occurred on 25 May 2007, and the channel went live on 23 July 2007. Originally broadcast in English, on 15 May 2010, Dawn News converted into an Urdu news channel after successful test transmission of four hours a day. Mirza Tahir Hussain
Mirza Tahir Hussain ( ur, مرزا طاہر حسین; born 1 June 1970) is a British man who spent 18 years on death row in Pakistan for the murder of a taxicab driver named Jamshed Khan in 1988. Following his conviction, Mirza was held in the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi. He was paroled on 17 November 2006. Conviction Hussain asserted that he killed Khan in self-defence, as Khan pulled out a gun and tried to sexually assault him. In the ensuing struggle, the gun went off, fatally injuring Khan. His conviction was quashed by the Pakistani Supreme Court, but he was then found guilty by The Federal Sharia Court. He was due to be hanged on 1 June 2006. The execution was delayed multiple times from the initial June 2006 date. The first delay, from June to August, may have resulted from an effort to avoid an execution during a visit to Pakistan by Prince Charles. The 7 July 2005 London bombings, often referred to as 7/7, were a series of four coordinated suicide attacks carried out by Islamic terrorists in London that targeted commuters travelling on the city's public transport system during the morning rush hour. Three terrorists separately detonated three homemade bombs in quick succession aboard London Underground trains across the city and, later, a fourth terrorist detonated another bomb on a double-decker bus in Tavistock Square.
