The Flying Dutchman was a sailing event on the Sailing at the 1960 Summer Olympics program in Naples. Seven races were scheduled. 64 sailors, on 31 boats, from 31 nations competed. Results DNF = Did Not Finish, DNS= Did Not Start, DSQ = Disqualified 13px = Male, 13px = Female Daily standings Conditions at Naples Of the total of three race areas were needed during the Olympics in Naples. Each of the classes was using the same scoring system. The center course was used for the Flying Dutchman. Lautenschutz, as crew on the Dutch Flying Dutchman ''Daisy'' (H102), took the 5th place with helmsman Ben Verhagen Gijsbertus "Ben" Verhagen (29 September 1926 – 4 January 2020) was a sailor from the Netherlands, who represented his country at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Naples. Juan Manuel Alonso-Allende
Juan Manuel Alonso-Allende Allende (8 December 1918 – 10 March 1984) was a Spanish Olympic sailor that competed in three Olympic Games between 1948 and 1968. Alonso-Allende also was a world-class competitor in the Snipe, Star, Firefly and Flying Dutchman classes. He won the Snipe class world championship in 1957. Besides, he won the first edition of the Spanish championship of the class in 1942 as a crew with his brother, José Maria, and as a skipper in 1956 and 1957. In the Star class, he was Spanish national champion in 1943, 1945, 1947, 1966, 1967 and 1968.
