SAFTI is a subzone of the Jurong West planning area of Singapore. It is home to the Pasir Laba Camp. It is also the training ground and a live-firing area for Singapore Armed Forces known as SAFTI Live Firing Area which is west of Pasir Laba Camp. It is bounded west of Upper Jurong Road, which is the only part of Western Water Catchment to name it Pasir Laba. So far, no developments are announced currently, unless Pasir Laba Green and SAFTI West new residential developments will be built. Pasir Laba Road Pasir Laba Road is a short stretch from Upper Jurong Road and terminating at Tengah Pumping Station via the SAFTI live firing ranges, Pasir Laba Camp and Multi-Mission Range Complex. Part of the Pasir Laba Road was broken up and renamed to Wrexham Avenue which has restricted access for the Matador and M210 Ranges. Hilltops There are some hills in Pasir Laba. Jurong West
Jurong West is a planning area and residential town located in the West Region of Singapore. Jurong West shares boundaries with Tengah in the north, Jurong East in the east, Boon Lay and Pioneer in the south, and Western Water Catchment in the west. Originally a forested area, Jurong West is undergoing rapid development under the ambition of the Housing and Development Board (HDB) to transform it into a fully mature housing estate. History Jurong West originated from the area once called Peng Kang, named after the gambier plantations along Sungei Jurong. Pinyin
Hanyu Pinyin (), often shortened to just pinyin, is the official romanization system for Standard Mandarin Chinese in China, and to some extent, in Singapore and Malaysia. It is often used to teach Mandarin, normally written in Chinese form, to learners already familiar with the Latin alphabet. Bukit Timah Group Representation Constituency
Bukit Timah Group Representation Constituency () is a defunct five-member Group Representation Constituency located in the western area of Singapore. It consists of largely Bukit Timah areas, and including parts of Jurong, Clementi and Bukit Batok areas as well. The GRC has only appeared once in 1997 which the ruling party, People's Action Party received a walkover on the nomination day, which is similar to Kreta Ayer–Tanglin GRC's fate. The planning area borders Tuas and Pioneer to its south, Sungei Kadut, Choa Chu Kang and Tengah to its east, Jurong West to its southeast, Lim Chu Kang to its north and the Straits of Johor to its west. It is the largest planning area by land area, covering nearly a tenth of Singapore Island. It is also one of the two main water catchments in Singapore, the other being Central Water Catchment. The area currently houses four reservoirs, Tengeh Reservoir, Poyan Reservoir, Murai Reservoir and Sarimbun Reservoir. Part of the Western Water Catchment is also a live-firing area in which it is used by the Singapore Armed Forces for training purposes. Joo Koon
Joo Koon (裕群) is an industrial estate in Jurong of the West Region, Singapore, West Region of Singapore. East of Joo Koon is Lok Yang and South is Gul, Singapore, Gul. Joo Koon consists mostly of factories. It is bounded by Upper Jurong Road, the Pan Island Expressway, Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim and Benoi Road. Chua Chu Kang GRC
The Chua Chu Kang Group Representation Constituency is a four-member Group Representation Constituency located in the western area of Singapore. There are four divisions of the GRC: Choa Chu Kang, Bukit Gombak, Keat Hong and Brickland. Military installations constitute a large part of the constituency, including most of the SAFTI Live Firing Area, Ama Keng and Neo Tiew military training areas and Murai Urban training facility.
