Sadie Ama
Sadie Ama (born Mersadie Louise Hall; 19 August 1987) is an English R&B singer who grew up in Kilburn, London. She is best known for featuring on the Tom Zanetti track " You Want Me", which peaked at number #22 on the UK Singles Chart. Sadie stated in 2005 that Aaliyah and her sister Shola Ama were both her inspirations. Sadie grew up around music, with her sister Shola Ama having an ongoing R&B career, and her mum was a singer in a jazz group called Clamber. She has stated that Shola Ama helped teach her how to write music. Katy B said in 2016 that she was a 'massive fan' of Sadie Ama. Career Sadie Ama began her career as a model at the young age of 4. The first music video she modelled in was "Mama" by the Spice Girls in 1997, wherein she acted as a young Mel B. She later stated it was embarrassing to look back on in a 2007 BBC interview, although at the time it was great since she was a Spice Girls fan. Kensal Green
Kensal Green is an area in north-west London. It lies mainly in the London Borough of Brent, with a small part to the south within Kensington and Chelsea. Kensal Green is located on the Harrow Road, about miles from Charing Cross. To the west on Harrow Road lies Harlesden while in the opposite direction are Maida Hill and Westbourne. Queens Park and Brondesbury are to the north-east, Willesden is to the north-west, and North Kensington lies to the south separated by the railway tracks of the Great Western Main Line. Kensal Green is best known for the Grade I listed Kensal Green Cemetery. MOBO Awards
The MOBO Awards (Music of Black Origin, also known as the MOBOs) are an annual British music award presentation honouring achievements in " music of black origin", including hip hop, grime, UK Drill, R&B, soul, reggae, jazz, gospel, and African music. The MOBO Organisation was founded by Kanya King, and the first MOBO award was presented to Baby D, in the Best Dance Act category. The inaugural awards were broadcast by Carlton Television from London's Connaught Rooms. Across its 22-year history, the MOBOs have been broadcast on Channel 4, BBC Television, ITV2 and on Channel 5 before returning to the BBC in 2020. In 2009, the ceremony was held for the first time in Glasgow. Prior to that, it had been held in London. In 2011, the ceremony returned for a second time to Scotland. So Solid Crew
So Solid Crew are a British UK garage and hip hop collective originating from the area on and surrounding the Winstanley and York Road Estates in Battersea, London which achieved wide success in the early 2000s. The group consisted of many members, the most notable being Asher D (Ashley Walters), Lisa Maffia, Harvey and Romeo. So Solid have been credited for being pioneers in the UK music scene. By turning UK garage from a dancey-genre to one that was darker and more MC-oriented, and gaining mainstream success, they inspired London youth to experiment with their own darker sounds, leading to what would become known as grime music.
