Sadaki Nakabayashi
Sadaki Nakabayashi (September 14, 1916 – September 29, 1977) is a former judo teacher and author. Nakabayashi authored a number of judo books including ''Judo, (Athletic Institute series)'' in 1968, ''How to Improve Your Judo'' in 1960, ''Fundamentals of judo'' in 1964. He also wrote the book fundamentals of Judo along with George Uchida and Olympic Coach Yoshihiro Uchida Nakabayshi taught for a period at the Kodokan. Nakabayashi is considered to be one of the best Judo instructors to have been sent to the United States. World War II Nakabayashi was a soldier in the Japanese Army in World War II. George Uchida
George Uchida (July 22, 1925 – August 6, 2004) was a judoka, wrestler, author, and coach. Uchida was the brother of San Jose Judo Coach Yosh Uchida. Uchida and other family members were sent to the Poston internment camp during World War II, following the signing of Executive Order 9066. He later served in the US Army in the field of military intelligence. He got key intelligence about Russian involvement in the Korean War. Upon his return he enrolled in San Jose State University majoring in physical education. Competition Uchida was a bronze medalist in the 1954 US National Championship for the sport of Judo. Yoshihiro Uchida
Yoshihiro Uchida (born April 1, 1920), better known as Yosh Uchida, is an American judo coach, businessman, entrepreneur, and educator who is best known for his contributions to judo. Uchida has been the head judo coach at San Jose State University for over 70 years, and has played a leading part in the development of the university's judo program. His brother George Uchida was the 1972 US Olympic judo coach. He turned 100 in April 2020. Early life Uchida was born in the Imperial Valley town of Calexico, California, to Japanese immigrants who worked as farm laborers. Later growing up in Garden Grove, Uchida began competing in judo at age 10. Kokushikan University

is one of the two of Kodokan Judo. It is intended as an illustration of the various concepts of that exist in judo, and is used both as a training method and as a demonstration of understanding. Bernard Lepkofker
Bernard Lepkofker (d. March 17, 2014) was a competitive judoka from Brooklyn, New York, in the United States. He was a two-time gold medalist at the Maccabiah Games in Israel, won a New York Judo gold medal, and twice won silver medals in the US national championships. Early life Lepkofker was raised in a Jewish orphanage, the Pride of Judea Children's Home, and was Jewish. He attended Thomas Jefferson High School, with an initial goal to attend Dayton University. Lepkofker earned a basketball scholarship for college, attending the University of Rio Grande in Ohio, but left after two years. Judo career Lepkofker joined the Air Force, and did basic training at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming.
