Plot summary ''Sabre River'' is an adventure in which the player characters must go to the Tower of Terror where they explore a dungeon setting located inside an active volcano, and take a journey on an underground river. A mysterious curse has hit a barony in the realm of Norwold: The waters of the Sabre River have been tainted, bringing death or evilness to all who drink from them. The player characters are charged to seek out the source of this curse, in the company of Cutter, a young boy who is strangely immune to the effects of the curse. In fact, Cutter plays a more vital role in the restoring of Sabre River than one would expect. Douglas Niles
Douglas Niles (born December 1, 1954, in Brookfield, Wisconsin) is a fantasy author and game designer. Niles was one of the creators of the Dragonlance world and the author of the first three Forgotten Realms novels, the ''Star Frontiers'' space opera setting and the ''Top Secret (role-playing game), Top Secret S/I'' espionage role-playing game. Early life and education Niles was born in Brookfield, Wisconsin, a suburb of Milwaukee, and his family moved to Nashotah, Wisconsin, Nashotah, a small town to the north, when he was twelve years old. Niles developed an interest in heroic fantasy, as well as wargaming, and began writing short stories and making short films in high school. Niles attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh, where he majored in speech and minored in English. Keith Parkinson
Keith A. Parkinson (October 22, 1958 – October 26, 2005) was an American fantasy artist and illustrator known for book covers and artwork for games such as ''EverQuest'', ''Guardians'', ''Magic: The Gathering'', and '' Vanguard: Saga of Heroes''. After designing book and magazine covers for TSR, Parkinson moved into game design in the 1990s, and co-designed the collectible card game ''Guardians''. Mystara
Mystara is a campaign setting for the ''Dungeons & Dragons'' fantasy role playing game. It was the default setting for the "Basic" version of the game throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Most adventures published for the "Basic" edition of ''D&D'' take place in "The Known World", a central continent that includes a varied patchwork of both human and non-human realms. ''The Endless Stair'' is a 1987 adventure module for the ''Dungeons & Dragons'' role-playing game. Its associated code is CM8. Synopsis ''The Endless Stair'' is a '' Companion Set'' adventure that begins at an inn. The player characters hear a rumor that leads them to a wizard's tomb. A mysterious doorway opens in the rocks atop Glazar's Crag and the characters go to see what is on the other side. The Great Mage Cheiromar is said to be buried under the Leaning Stone atop Galzar's Crag. One of his apprentices, Ulthorn, was discovered dead in an aperture of the Leaning Stone (a doorway that reportedly never existed before). The player characters must discover how Ulthorn died and the mystery of the Leaning Stone. In the process they may find the Endless Stair which seems to lead nowhere. Bruce Nesmith
Bruce Nesmith is a game designer who has worked primarily on role-playing games. He was Creative Director at TSR, working on a variety of games including ''Dungeons & Dragons'', and is a senior game designer at Bethesda Game Studios, where he has worked on AAA titles such as ''Fallout 3'', ''Fallout 4'' and '' Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion'', and was lead designer on '' Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim''.
