Sabaton (band)
Sabaton is a Swedish heavy metal music, heavy metal band from Falun, Sweden. The vast majority of their albums are written about historical events, mainly wars and significant battles. Sabaton has been referred to as one of the "big four" power metal bands, along with Helloween, Blind Guardian and DragonForce. They are one of the most successful metal bands in Swedish history, with their album ''Carolus Rex (album), Carolus Rex'' being the best-selling Swedish heavy metal album of all time. History Formation and first albums (1999–2009) Sabaton was formed in December 1999. After the first songs were recorded in Peter Tägtgren's studio, The Abyss (recording studio), The Abyss, Sabaton was contacted by a couple of record labels. Hellfest (French Music Festival)
Hellfest (), also called Hellfest Summer Open Air, is a rock festival focusing on heavy metal music, held annually in June in Clisson, France. Its high attendance makes it the French music festival with the largest turnover. It is also one of the biggest metal festivals in Europe and the first to exist in France. It originated in another music festival, the Fury Fest, held from 2002 to 2005, in different areas of Pays de la Loire. Hellfest took over in 2006 and over the years has seen a continuous rise in visitors, from 22,000 in the first edition, to 55,000 tickets sold per day in 2017. In 2022, the seven-day festival featured 350 bands and was attended by 60,000 people per day. Peter Tägtgren
Alf Peter Tägtgren (born 3 June 1970) is a Swedish musician, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. He is the founder, main songwriter, lead vocalist, and guitarist of death metal band Hypocrisy as well as the industrial metal band Pain in which he is the only member. He is also the owner of ''The Abyss'' recording studio and the co-founder of Lindemann, a music project between Tägtgren and Rammstein vocalist Till Lindemann. Tägtgren left Lindemann in 2020. Music career Tägtgren started playing drums at the age of nine and later learned to play guitar, bass and keyboard. After Tägtgren's first band Conquest disbanded, he emigrated to the United States. HammerFall
HammerFall is a Swedish power metal band from Gothenburg. The band was formed in 1993 by ex-Ceremonial Oath guitarist Oscar Dronjak. History Early days (1993–1996) HammerFall was formed when rhythm guitarist Oscar Dronjak quit Ceremonial Oath and invited Jesper Strömblad (from Ceremonial Oath and In Flames) to join him as a drummer in a new musical project he had been contemplating for some time. Dronjak had already composed the song "Steel Meets Steel," which was later included on HammerFall's debut album. Sun Tzu ( ; zh, t=孫子, s=孙子, first= t, p=Sūnzǐ) was a Chinese military general, strategist, philosopher, and writer who lived during the Eastern Zhou period of 771 to 256 BCE. ''The Art of War'' is the fourth album by Swedish Heavy metal music, heavy metal band Sabaton (band), Sabaton. The album is based on the ancient Chinese military treatise, ''The Art of War'' written by General Sun Tzu in the 6th century BC. It consists of 13 chapters, each of which describe a different aspect of warfare, and is considered the definitive work on military tactics and strategies of its time. The tracks on the album correspond to each chapter of treatise. The lyrics of the songs are about famous battles or war, mostly based on the battles of the World War I, First and World War II, Second World Wars where Sun Tzu's tactics were applied. Attero Dominatus
''Attero Dominatus'' is the second studio album by Swedish heavy metal band Sabaton, as well as the first to feature keyboardist Daniel Mÿhr. The album reached 16th place on the Swedish album charts, remaining in the listings for seven weeks. A video for the title track was shot in Umeå, Sweden, by Nocturnal Rites' drummer Owe Lingvall. For the recording, the band wore camouflage gear, and singer Joakim Brodén donned a vest with metal plates, both features which came to be part of the band's regular stage gear from that point on. Edguy
Edguy is a heavy metal band formed in Fulda, Germany in 1992. History Demos, AFM years (1992–2003) Edguy was founded in 1992 by 14-year-old students Tobias Sammet, Jens Ludwig, Dominik Storch and Dirk Sauer. The name "Edguy" was an affectionate epithet for their math teacher at the time. In 1994, the band released two demos, ''Evil Minded'' and ''Children of Steel''. These tapes were sent to many record labels, all of whom rejected the band, believing they would be unsuccessful in the music business.
