Sababu
''Sababu'' () is a 1999 Maldivian drama film directed by Ahmed Nimal. Produced by Aslam Rasheed under Slam Studio, the film stars Ibrahim Giyas, Aishath Shiranee and Ahmed Nimal in pivotal roles. Premise Azim (Ibrahim Giyas) is hired to work as a supervisor in a factory managed by Liusha (Aishath Shiranee). She meets a strange man, Niyaz (Ahmed Nimal) who is smitten by her beauty. One day, he saves Liusha from being sexually abused by her classmate, Mohamed (Mohamed Afrah) though she blamed the whole incident on Niyaz. Later, they reconcile and start a romantic relationship. Complications arise when Azim confesseds his affection towards Liusha and Niyaz decides to sacrifice his love for the sake of his friend's happiness. Ahmed Nimal
Ahmed Nimal is a Maldivian actor, director, editor, writer and producer. Early life Prior to acting in films, Nimal worked at Maldives Meteorological Service office. His interest in films and acting grew due to the influence of his colleagues including Easa Shareef and other friends who actively take part in theatre plays. Career Nimal made his career debut with ''Nufoozu'' (1984), an initiation by Shareef and his colleagues. Initially assigned to work behind the camera, Shareef requested him to star in the lead role of the film due to a date conflict of the original actor who was offered the role first. Afterwards, he started working as a full-time actor and led an organization "Dhivehi Harakaaiy Jamiyya" along with Shareef. Aishath Shiranee
Aishath Shiranee (born 16 January 1975) is a Maldivian former film actress. Shiranee is the recipient of several awards, including one Gaumee Film Award and three Aafathis Awards. In 2001, the Government of Maldives honoured her with the National Award of Recognition. Career While working in a job at Maldives Customs Service, Shiranee made her screen debut with a video single titled "Hithaa Roohun Asaru Kuranee" alongside Ahmed Ghiyas which was followed by several other video songs before making her film debut with the film ''Naseebu'' (1992). Mohamed Afrah
Mohamed Afrah Hassan, commonly known as Mohamed Afrah (17 January 1974 – 7 April 2019) was a Maldivian film actor and producer. Career Afrah was featured in the most successful Maldivian film of 2000, Ahmed Nimal's horror classic ''Zalzalaa'', where he played the traumatized son observing supernatural events in his family. The film follows a man who lost his life and endangering his whole family while being lured by a female spirit sent off to complete an unfulfilled prophecy. Ibrahim Wisan
Ibrahim Wisan (born 27 February 1977), nicknamed as Kandi is a Maldivian cinematographer, actor and director. Career In 1996, Wisan starred in Mohamed Rasheed's '' Hifehettumeh Neiy Karuna'' opposite Niuma Mohamed, Abdul Raheem and Arifa Ibrahim. He again collaborated with Arifa Ibrahim for her drama film '' Dhauvaa'', an unofficial remake of Deepak Sareen's Bollywood film '' Aaina'' (1993), where he reprised the role played by Deepak Tijori in the original. Mohamed Rashad
Mohamed Rashad (1952 – 2002) also referred as Madhaha Rashad was a Maldivian singer. Early life and career Rashad was born in 1952 in Male'. His father, Qasim Hussain was famously known for locals as "Naivaadhoo Kasim" and "Reendhoo Kasim". His mother, Hawwa Idhurees was a homemaker. He had one brother as a sibling and ten others as half-siblings including notable local artists, Ali Rameez, Ibrahim Rameez and Rafiyath Rameeza. At a very young age, persuaded by his "undying love for music", Rashad was accompanied by the music group "Maafannu Fiyaathoshi Club" to lift and transport their music instruments.
