Saarathi
''Saarathi'' ( en, Charioteer) is a 2011 Indian Kannada-language romantic action film written and directed by Dinakar Thoogudeep. It stars Darshan and debutante Deepa Sannidhi in the lead roles. V. Harikrishna scored for the film's background and its soundtrack, lyrics for which was penned by V. Nagendra Prasad. The film released theatrically on 30 September 2011 when the Darshan was under judicial custody for alleged domestic violence against his wife, Vijayalakshmi. It received three awards at the 2011 Karnataka State Film Awards, including the Best Entertaining Movie. The core plot of the movie was reported to be based on the 1994 animated movie ''The Lion King''. Synopsis ''Raja'', an auto-rickshaw driver, who falls in love with ''Rukmini''. But she has an enemy in ''Pratap'', a relative who wants to marry her, and takes her to his hometown - Durgakote. Deepa Sannidhi
Deepa Sannidhi (born Rahasya) is an Indian actress who mainly appears in Kannada films. She made her acting debut in the 2011 film ''Saarathi''. Personal life Rahasya was born in Chikkamagalur district of Karnataka to Shashidhar and Nanda. She completed her schooling in Bangalore and is an alumna of St. Aloysius College in Mangalore. Career Deepa Sannidhi was in her first year in architectural engineering when she received a film offer for ''Saarathi'', and dropped out of college to pursue a career in films. She also has some prior experience in modelling and has completed a one-year course in jewellery designing. During her acting career, Deepa simultaneously pursued a degree in English Literature through Distant Education. Darshan Thoogudeepa (born 16 February 1977) known mononymously as Darshan is an Indian actor, producer, and distributor who works predominantly in Kannada films. One of the leading contemporary actors of Kannada cinema, Darshan established the production house Thoogudeepa Productions in 2006. Its first production was '' Jothe Jotheyali'', with Darshan in a special appearance. He began his acting career in soap operas and small films in the mid-1990s. Sharatchandra Lohithaswa (born 5 May 1972), known popularly as Sharath Lohithaswa, is an Indian actor mostly known for his work in Kannada and Tamil films. He has had a successful career in theatre, where he continues to work, and television.
