''Saamaniyan'' () is a 2024 Indian Tamil-language vigilante film directed by R. Rakesh and produced by Etcetera Entertainment. The film stars Ramarajan, Radha Ravi and M. S. Bhaskar. It was released in theatres on 23 May 2024. Cast Production ''Saamaniyan'' marks the acting comeback of Ramarajan after 12 years and it is his 45th film as an actor. Ramarajan sported a bearded look for the first time in his acting career. Filming began in late 2022, and wrapped in January 2023. Ramarajan (born 18 October, 1960) is an Indian actor, writer, director and politician who specialised in acting and directing films on village-based subjects. He is also known as ''Makkal Nayagan'' in Tamil cinema. Career Ramarajan started his career by doing small roles beginning in the year 1977. He turned director with '' Mannukketha Ponnu'' (1985), Ramarajan instead approached Gangai Amaran to compose music. He got his first hype as a lead in the film ''Namma Ooru Nalla Ooru'', released in 1986. He is popular for doing films on the village-based subjects; these films became the notable identity of Ramarajan. He was known for his dark shirts and colorful costumes. Mime Gopi is an Indian stage and film actor who has appeared in predominantly Tamil films including ''Madras'' (2014), ''Kathakali'' (2016), and ''Kabali'' (2016). Wrap, as used in the phrase "That's a wrap" has been used by directors since the early days of the film industry to signal the end of filming.
