Saad Sport Club ( ar, نادي سعد الرياضي) is an Iraqi football team based in Ad-Dawr, Saladin, that plays in Iraq Division Three. History Lower divisions Saad SC was founded on 5 November 1989 and admitted to the Iraq Division Three (fourth-tier of Iraqi football) after the withdrawal of one of the teams in that division. Saad won the Division Three and Division Two titles consecutively, and in the 1991–92 season they won the Iraq Division One title by beating Wahid Huzairan 1–0 in the final, securing promotion to the Iraqi Premier League. Ad-Dawr ( ar, الدور) is a small agricultural town in Saladin Governorate, Iraq, near Tikrit. Saladin Governorate
The Saladin or Salah Al-Din Governorate ( ar, محافظة صلاح الدين) is one of Iraq's 19 governorates, north of Baghdad. It has an area of , with an estimated population of 1,042,200 people in 2003. The Iraq Division One is the second-highest division of the Iraqi football league system after the Premier League. The league is contested by 24 clubs. It is operated by the Iraq Football Association (IFA). Each season, the two top-finishing teams in the Division One are automatically promoted to the Premier League. The four lowest-finishing teams in the Division One are relegated to Division Two. Iraqi Premier League
The Iraqi Premier League ( ar, الدوري العراقي الممتاز) is the top level of the Iraqi football league system. Contested by 20 clubs, it is operated by the Iraq Football Association (IFA) and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Iraq Division One. The league was formed by the IFA in 1974 as the Iraqi National Clubs First Division, the first nationwide league of clubs in Iraq. The current format sees 20 teams playing 38 matches each (playing each team in the league twice, home and away), totalling 380 matches in the season. Of the 80 teams to have competed since the inception of the league in 1974, eleven have won the title. 1992–93 Iraqi National League
The 1992–93 Iraqi National Clubs First Division was the 19th season of the competition since its foundation in 1974. The league title was won by Al-Talaba for the fourth time in their history. The league was 69 rounds long (totalling 828 matches) in total, the most rounds in any season in the competition's history, with the Iraq Football Association (IFA) deciding that no player could play more than 46 matches. Players that had been selected for the Iraq national team were released for international duty by their clubs after round 24, after which they did not participate in any more league matches. After 46 rounds, the IFA decided to remove the four lowest-placed teams from Baghdad along with the lowest-placed team from outside Baghdad, and replaced them with five new teams to play the remaining 23 games in their place, with each new team adopting the record of the club they had replaced.
