Saad Benyamin
Saad Abdul-Hameed (born 21 October 1968) is an Iraqi former international football player. An ethnic Assyrian, Benyamin played for Al-Zawraa, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, Al-Shorta, and Club Africain. In 1988, Saad was called up to play for the Iraqi U-19 in the Asian Youth Championship in Doha, Qatar, where the team won the tournament and qualified to play in the 1989 World Youth Championship in Saudi Arabia. In 1988, he was given his international debut and become a permanent fixture of the Iraqi national team until 1994. Saad was an attacking left back or left side of midfield. Ismail Mohammed (football Coach)
Ismail Mohammed (born 1922 in Baghdad – January 2, 2008) was Iraq’s first national team coach who led the team at the 2nd Pan Arab Games in Beirut in 1957. Childhood The young Ismail began playing football using tennis balls which he got from a neighbour in Al-Karkh who was working with the British before he started school. It was at Dar Al-Mualamin Primary in Al-Karkh where he was taught by Egyptian PE teacher Safwat Al-Ameiri. One of his fellow students was Abdul-Ghani Askar, who Ismail still says possesses the strongest shot that he has seen to this day. Ismail played in several school tournaments involving other schools from Baghdad; one game was against the Al-Tahera Primary, where one of Baghdad’s best players Nassir “Chico” Yousef was studying. Al-Zawraa Sports Club ( ar, نادي الزوراء الرياضي) is an Iraqi sports club based in Utayfia, Karkh District (near Tigris River), Baghdad. Their football team compete in the Iraqi Premier League, the top-flight of Iraqi football. Al-Zawraa are the most decorated club in Iraq having won 14 Premier League titles, 16 Iraq FA Cups and 5 Iraqi Super Cups, all national records. Al-Shorta Sports Club ( ar, نادي الشرطة الرياضي, lit=''Police Sports Club'') is an Iraqi sports club based in Al-Rusafa, Baghdad. It has teams in 17 different sports, more than any other Iraqi club, and the best known section of the club is the football team, whose origins date back to 1932. In 1974, following the Iraq Football Association's decision to implement a clubs-only policy for domestic competitions, Al-Shorta were established as a sports club.
