SV Schott Jena
SV Schott Jena (styled as SV SCHOTT Jena) is a German football club located in Jena, Thuringia. It currently plays in NOFV-Oberliga Süd. The team's colours are blue and white. History ''SV Schott Jena'' was founded in 1896 as ''TV Glashütte Jena'' by workers of Schott AG and the company's founder Otto Schott. In 1911 the gymnastics club added a football department and joined the Arbeiter-Turn- und Sportbund. Until 1933 the footballers were ATSB's Thuringian champions twice. In that year the club was renamed ''TSV Glaswerk Jena'' after a merger, and in 1937 as ''TuS Schott Jena''. After the Second World War football and other sports clubs were ordered dissolved; ''Schott Jena'' was among them, but was refounded as ''SG Jena Forst'' in 1946. Frequent name changes followed despite the financial support given by the glassworks company. By 1990, it had played under 10 different names, including ''BSG Otto Schott'' and ''BSG Glas Jena''. Thuringia Cup
The Thuringia Cup (German: Thüringenpokal) is an annual football competition in Thuringia, Germany. The Thuringia Football Association (German: Thüringer Fußball-Verband, TFV) is its governing body. The cup winner qualifies for next season's DFB-Pokal. It is one of the 21 regional cup competitions in Germany. Qualification and competition format All Thuringian clubs competing in 3. Liga, Regionalliga, NOFV-Oberliga Süd, Thüringenliga and Landesklasse Thüringen are eligible to play in the cup. Additionally the winners of the Bezirkspokal competitions qualify. Ernst Abbe Sportfeld is a sports facility in Jena, Germany. It was dedicated on 24 August 1924 and was named after entrepreneur Ernst Abbe 15 years later. The facility is in southern Jena, directly on the Saale River. The City of Jena purchased the stadium from the Ernst-Abbe-Stiftung (The Ernst Abbe Foundation) in 1991. The soccer and track stadium in the Ernst-Abbe-Sportfeld is the home field of FC Carl Zeiss Jena. It was homestead for famous sprints, javelin throw and long jump athletes like Petra Felke and Heike Drechsler, when Sport-Club Motor Jena still existed, and it has a capacity of over 12,990. There are 6,540 seats with 4,010 covered seats in the main stands.
