STV Appeal
STV Children's Appeal (previously named STV Appeal) is a Scottish charity appeal organised by STV and The Hunter Foundation, in aid of the STV Charitable Trust (number SC042429). History and format Since its formation in 2011, the key focus of STV Appeal has been the alleviation of child poverty in Scotland. The STV Children's Appeal seeks to address long-term, sustainable change in the lives of those children most at risk by tackling the root causes as well as the effects of poverty and disadvantage. To help achieve this objective, they engage with corporate bodies, community groups, local businesses, schools, local and central government and the general public. STV has played a key role in engaging with these parties through the utilisation of its on-air and online platforms in order to stimulate public debate on issues relating to child poverty. Lorraine Kelly
Lorraine Kelly, (born 30 November 1959) is a Scottish journalist and television presenter. She has presented various television shows for ITV, including '' Good Morning Britain'' (1988–1992), ''GMTV'' (1993–2010), ''This Morning'' (2003–2005, 2016), '' Daybreak'' (2012–2014), ''The Sun Military Awards'' (2016–present), '' STV Children's Appeal'' (2016–present), and her eponymous programme ''Lorraine'' (2010–present). Cameron Stout (born 8 March 1971 in Stromness, Orkney) is the winner of '' Big Brother 2003''. He received 1.9 million votes, 500,000 more than runner-up Ray Shah. Cameron is the elder brother of television and radio presenter Julyan Sinclair. ''Big Brother'' Before the contest, Stout had worked as a fish trader for an American company in Orkney in Scotland. Stout was known for his strong evangelical Christian beliefs and was proud in admitting his virginity. Glasgow's Needy
Glasgow's Needy is a non-registered charity organisation based in Glasgow, Scotland, with the aims of collecting and providing food to the cities poor. Glasgow's Needy was founded in September 2014 by father and son duo, Andy and Darren Carnegie. The founders of Glasgow’s Needy embarked on the project after seeing so much deprivation and poverty, which they claim to be "sickening". Glasgow’s Needy also campaign for social justice and equality, however say their main focus is supplying food to the poor people of Glasgow. Protests The Founders embarked on a protest against poverty. They did this by eating only one meal a day, and only slept in a bag and tent for a week. Amy Elizabeth Macdonald (born 25 August 1987) is a Scottish singer-songwriter. Stuart John Francis Cosgrove (born 12 November 1952) is a Scottish journalist, broadcaster and television executive. As a journalist Cosgrove served on the ''NME'' (Media Editor) and '' The Face'' during the 1980s, before joining Channel 4 in 1994, serving for eight years as Controller of Arts and Entertainment and then as Head of Programmes ( Nations and Regions) until stepping down in 2015. John Amabile (pronounced Am-ah-bih-lay) is a Scottish interior designer, media content writer, TV presenter and event host, who has worked on TV makeover shows. Born in 1964, Amabile grew up in the Ralston district of Paisley, Renfrewshire. Dorothy Paul (born 1937 as Dorothy Pollock) is a Scottish stage and screen actress, comedian, and entertainer. She performed onstage often at the Pavilion Theatre in Glasgow. Michelle McManus (born 8 May 1980) is a Scottish singer, columnist, and television presenter who won the second and final series of the UK talent show ''Pop Idol'' in 2003. Alex Salmond
Alexander Elliot Anderson Salmond (; born 31 December 1954) is a Scottish politician and economist who served as First Minister of Scotland from 2007 to 2014. Stephen Jardine
Stephen Jardine (born 1963) is a Scottish journalist, broadcaster and presenter. He has worked for the BBC, Scottish Television, GMTV and Radio Tay. Early years Born in Dumfries, Jardine is the son of the late Bill Jardine, a former chairman of Queen of the South.
