Indiantown Road is a east–west road connecting inner Palm Beach County, with Florida's Turnpike, Interstate 95, and U.S. Route 1 in Jupiter, Florida. The road was formerly entirely designated as State Road 706 (SR 706), but majority of it has been transferred to local jurisdiction and is signed as County Road 706 (CR 706). Route description West of Jupiter Indiantown Road begins at an intersection with the Bee-Line Highway ( SR 710) in the middle of the wetlands in northwest Palm Beach County, approximately east of Indiantown and roughly six miles from the site of the fake "ghost town" of Apix. State Road 710 (SR 710) is a northwest-southeast route connecting SR 70 near Okeechobee, three miles (5 km) from the northern tip of Lake Okeechobee in south central Florida, to Old Dixie Highway ( CR 811) in Riviera Beach. Most of the route is also known as Bee-Line Highway and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, as it parallels the railroad tracks maintained by CSX Transportation (their Auburndale Subdivision) and used by Amtrak; and doesn’t have a turn or curve in the southeast of Sherman, except for a small bend northwest of North Palm Beach County General Aviation Airport. Dixie Highway
Dixie Highway was a United States auto trail first planned in 1914 to connect the Midwest with the South. It was part of a system and was expanded from an earlier Miami to Montreal highway. The final system is better understood as a network of connected paved roads, rather than one single highway. It was constructed and expanded from 1915 to 1929. The Dixie Highway was inspired by the example of the slightly earlier Lincoln Highway, the first road across the United States. The prime booster of both projects was promoter and businessman Carl G.
