SONO 50
SONO 50 (also known as the SoNo Corporate Center) is an office building in Norwalk, Connecticut in the modernist style. It is the tallest building in Norwalk, standing 14 stories and tall. Renovation When Capital Equities Group acquired the building in 2014, work commenced on modernizing and upgrading the building's interior and exterior. Renovations included a new lobby, fitness center, and a repainting of the exterior facade. The building was generally considered an eyesore by the public, the original facade was a white color. In hopes of improving the aesthetics of the building, the exterior walls were painted over to grey in 2019, finishing the renovation process. Emporis
Emporis GmbH was a real estate data mining company that was headquartered in Hamburg, Germany. The company collected data and photographs of buildings worldwide, which were published in an online database from 2000 to September 2022. On 12 September 2022, the managing director of CoStar Europe posted a letter on Emporis.com, informing its community members of the decision which had been made to retire the Emporis community platform, effective 13 September 2022. Emporis offered a variety of information on its public database, Emporis.com. Emporis was frequently cited by various media sources as an authority on building data. Emporis originally focused exclusively on high-rise buildings and skyscrapers, which it defined as buildings "between 35 and 100 metres" tall and "at least 100 metres tall", respectively. Emporis used the point where the building touches the ground to determine height. The database had expanded to include low-rise buildings and other structures. It used a ...

Modernist Architecture
Modern architecture, or modernist architecture, was an architectural movement or architectural style based upon new and innovative technologies of construction, particularly the use of glass, steel, and reinforced concrete; the idea that form should follow function ( functionalism); an embrace of minimalism; and a rejection of ornament. It emerged in the first half of the 20th century and became dominant after World War II until the 1980s, when it was gradually replaced as the principal style for institutional and corporate buildings by postmodern architecture. Eyesore
An eyesore is something that is largely considered to look unpleasant or ugly. Its technical usage is as an alternative perspective to the notion of landmark. Common examples include dilapidated buildings, graffiti, litter, polluted areas, and excessive commercial signage such as billboards. Some eyesores may be a matter of opinion such as controversial modern architecture (see also spite house), transmission towers or wind turbines. Natural eyesores include feces, mud and weeds. Effect on property values In the US, the National Association of Realtors says an eyesore can shave about 10 percent off the value of a nearby listing. Remediation Clean-up programmes to improve or remove eyesores are often started by local bodies or even national governments. These are frequently called ''Operation Eyesore''. High-profile international events such as the Olympic Games usually trigger such activity. Others contend that it is best to address these problems while they are small, since s ...

Office Buildings In Connecticut
An office is a space where an organization's employees perform administrative work in order to support and realize objects and goals of the organization. The word "office" may also denote a position within an organization with specific duties attached to it (see officer, office-holder, official); the latter is in fact an earlier usage, office as place originally referring to the location of one's duty. When used as an adjective, the term "office" may refer to business-related tasks. In law, a company or organization has offices in any place where it has an official presence, even if that presence consists of (for example) a storage silo rather than an establishment with desk-and- chair. An office is also an architectural and design phenomenon: ranging from a small office such as a bench in the corner of a small business of extremely small size (see small office/home office), through entire floors of buildings, up to and including massive buildings dedicated entirely ...
