SLA Industries
''SLA Industries'' (pronounced "slay") is a role-playing game first published in 1993 by Nightfall Games in Glasgow, Scotland. The game is set in a dystopian far-flung future in which the majority of the known universe is either owned or indirectly controlled by the eponymous corporation "SLA Industries" and incorporates themes from the cyberpunk, horror, and conspiracy genres. The game combined concepts inspired by a range of aesthetics and ideas. Dave Allsop
Dave Allsop is a Scottish game designer and artist for role-playing games and video games. Career Dave Allsop developed the role-playing game ''SLA Industries'' (1993); the Scottish company Nightfall Games was founded solely to publish the game. Wizards of the Coast later bought ''SLA Industries'', but then returned it to Nightfall, who licensed it to Hogshead Publishing; in 2002, Hogshead closed down and thus ''SLA Industries'' returned to Allsop. Allsop was by then the flatmate of Angus Abranson, and they decided to form a new role-playing company in 2003 called Cubicle 7 Entertainment. Allsop started work on a new release of ''SLA Industries'', but in the Fall of 2004 Allsop decided to pull out of Cubicle 7 to pursue other opportunities. Gladiators (television Franchise)
''Gladiators'' is a sports entertainment television show that was an international success during the 1990s and early 2000s with versions of the show being filmed for local broadcasters in the United States, the United Kingdom, Finland, Japan, Australia, South Africa, Sweden, Nigeria, and Denmark. However, Russia, Germany, South Korea and the Bahamas would also compete in international shows during the series, despite the fact that they did not have their own domestic series. After a lengthy break, ''Gladiators'' was revived in 2008 in the UK, the US and Australia; in 2009 Lebanon created their own series featuring competitors from all over the Arab region and in 2012 Sweden brought back their version which proved most successful of all revivals, with another revival airing in Finland during 2017 and 2019. GM Screen
A gamemaster's screen, also called a GM's screen, is a gaming accessory, usually made out of either cardboard or card stock, and is used by the gamemaster to hide all the relevant data related to a tabletop role-playing game session from the players in order to not spoil the plot of the story. It also hides any dice rolls made by the gamemaster that players should not see. In addition, screens often have essential tables and information printed on the inside for the gamemaster to easily reference during play. Hogshead Publishing was a British game company that produced role-playing games and game supplements. History In October 1994, James Wallis founded Hogshead Publishing, a company which specialised in role-playing and storytelling games. Wallis based the company in the UK, and got a license from Phil Gallagher at Games Workshop to publish books for ''Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay''. Wallis and Andrew Rilstone changed the name of the magazine ''Inter*action'' to ''Interactive Fantasy'' due to trademark concerns beginning with its second issue, which was also Hogshead's first publication; the magazine only lasted two more issues after that.
