SK Nessegutten
Sportsklubben Nessegutten is a multi-sports club from Levanger, Norway. It has divisions for football, athletics, handball, orienteering, skiing, speed skating, tennis and artistic gymnastics. It was founded on 20 April 1929. The football club reached the quarter-finals of the 1959 Norwegian Football Cup. After drawing Viking FK at Ullevaal Stadion, the team lost 0–4 against Viking at Lerkendal Stadion, with nearly 25,000 spectators, most of which were from Innherred. Lerkendal () is a borough in the city of Trondheim in Trøndelag county, Norway. The borough was established on 1 January 2005 in a municipal borough reform that reduced the number of boroughs in the city. The borough of Østbyen lies to the east, Midtbyen lies to the northwest, and Heimdal lies to the southwest. The boroughs oversee health, welfare, and education for their residents. The borough is located south of Gløshaugen and Elgeseter, west of Berg, north of Tempe and mostly east of the river Nidelva. The area is dominated by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, SINTEF, and Lerkendal Stadion (the home stadium of Rosenborg). Levanger is a municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is part of the district of Innherred. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Levanger. Some of the notable villages in the municipality include Alstadhaug, Ekne, Hokstad, Markabygd, Momarka, Frol, Mule, Nesset, Okkenhaug, Ronglan, Skogn, and Åsen. 1959 Norwegian Football Cup
The 1959 Norwegian Football Cup was the 54th season of the Norwegian annual knockout football tournament. The tournament was open for all members of NFF, except those from Northern Norway. Skeid was the defending champions, but was eliminated by the second-tier team Nessegutten in the fourth round. The final was played at Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo on 25 October 1959, and was contested by Viking, which had won the cup once in 1953, and Sandefjord BK who played their second cup final, having lost the final in 1957. Viking won 2-1 after extra time against Sandefjord in the final, and secured their second title. Ullevaal Stadion () is an all-seater football stadium located in Oslo, Norway. It is the home ground of the Norway national football team, and the site of the Norwegian Cup Final. From its opening in 1926 to 2009 it was the home ground of FK Lyn and from 1999 to 2017 was a home ground of Vålerenga IF. With a capacity of approximately 28,000, it is the largest football stadium in Norway. The national stadium is fully owned by the Football Association of Norway (NFF). Lerkendal Stadion
The Lerkendal Stadion () is an all-seater football stadium located at Lerkendal in Trondheim, Norway. The home ground of the Eliteserien (2017) side Rosenborg BK, it has a capacity for 21,405 spectators, making it the second-largest football stadium in the country. Lerkendal opened as a multi-purpose stadium on 10 August 1947, as the main football and athletics stadium in Trondheim. Originally the venue was mostly used by the football teams SK Freidig and FK Kvik, and Rosenborg did not become a tenant until 1957. A new grandstand with roof was completed in 1962, and floodlights were installed in 1968. The oldest of the current stands were built in 1996, along with new lighting. Innherred or Innherad is a traditional district in Trøndelag county in the central part of Norway. It consists of the areas around the inner part of the Trondheimsfjord in the central-east part of the county. The district includes the municipalities of Levanger, Frosta, Verdal, Inderøy, and Steinkjer. Sometimes, the municipalities of Snåsa and Namdalseid are also included in the Innherred district. IL Sverre
Idrettslaget Sverre is a sports club located in Levanger, Norway. The club was founded on 26 September 1886, and today it has sections for football, gymnastics, tennis and cycling. The name originates from Birkebeiner king Sverre Sigurdsson. Football History In the 1956–57 season, Sverre competed in play-offs to win promotion to the 1957–58 Hovedserien, the top division in the Norwegian football league system. Sverre lost 3–5 on aggregate against Molde and were never promoted to the top flight. Sverre kept on playing in lower leagues until their last season as a senior team in the fourth tier 3. divisjon in the 1995 season.
