SISU Basketball Klub is a Danish basketball club from Gentofte, Copenhagen founded in 1954. It takes its name from the Finnish term ''Sisu''. It is the oldest basketball club in Denmark. Both the men's and women's teams still plays in the league's premier championships. The men's team most recent success was reaching the 2000–01 championship's final rounds, where it lost against Forest Hill, while the women's team has resurfaced as a leading force in recent years, winning two doubles in 2011 and 2012 and playing the FIBA Eurocup.Profile

Danish Basketball League
The Basketligaen ( en, The Basketball League) is the highest professional basketball league in Denmark. The original men's first division was founded in 1957 and the current league was founded in 1998. All-time record holder in league titles is Bakken Bears, which has captured 18 titles in its history. BMS is the only team with 5 titles in a row, starting in 1986 through 1990. The main TV partner of the league is Sport Live. The league consists of 10 teams, with no relegation rules. Adjehi Nonma Baru (born 10 December 1991) is a Ivorian professional basketball player who currently plays for Burundian team Urunani. He also represents the Ivory Coast national basketball team. Basketball Teams In Denmark
Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. Hrannar Hólm
Hrannar Hólm (born April 17, 1964) is an Icelandic former basketball coach. He was the head coach of the Danish women's national basketball team from 2014 to 2017. From 2011 to 2014, he led SISU BK to four straight Dameligaen championships. Career Iceland Hrannar coached for five seasons in the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild karla, accumulating a 62-34 record (64,6%). His best season came in 1995-1996 when he led defending champions Njarðvík to a 28-4 record, including a 17-game winning streak to finish the season. Although the team had the best record in the league it fell out in the quarter-finals in the playoffs against Keflavík. Denmark Hrannar took over as coach of SISU BK late in the 2009-2010 season when the team was in 8-9th place and helped it achieve 2nd-place finish. Þorsteinn Hallgrímsson
Þorsteinn Hallgrímsson (born 25 July 1942) is an Icelanders, Icelandic former basketball player. Nicknamed Doddi, he won the Úrvalsdeild karla (basketball), Icelandic championship nine times and the Danish Basketball League, Danish championship four times during his career. Playing career Þorsteinn played his first game in 1959 with ÍR men's basketball, ÍR. He was a key player in the ÍR team that won the Icelandic championship for five straight seasons, from 1960 to 1964. In 1965, Þorsteinn joined SISU BK in the Danish Basketball League and helped the club to the national championship in 1966 and 1967. He left SISU midway through the 1967–68 season, with the club in first place, and rejoined ÍR. Þorsteinn was named the Úrvalsdeild karla Player of the Year, Úrvalsdeild Player of the Year in 1971. Yunss Prince Michel Akinocho (born 11 March 1987) is a Moroccan-French basketball player. He is also member of the Moroccan national basketball team. Lárus Jónsson (born 28 November 1978) is an Icelandic basketball coach and former player. He is currently the head coach of Þór Þorlákshöfn. As a player, he played several seasons in the Icelandic top-tier Úrvalsdeild karla and was a member of the Icelandic national team.
