SIGAI
ACM SIGAI is the Association for Computing Machinery's Special Interest Group on Artificial Intelligence ( AI), an interdisciplinary group of academic and industrial researchers, practitioners, software developers, end users, and students who work together to promote and support the growth and application of AI principles and techniques throughout computing. SIGAI is one of the oldest special interest groups in the ACM. SIGAI, previously called SIGART, started in 1966, publishing the SIGART Newsletter that later became the SIGART Bulletin and Intelligence Magazine. Moshe Tennenholtz
Moshe Tennenholtz is an Israeli computer scientist and professor with the faculty of Industrial Engineering and Management at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, where he holds the Sondheimer Technion Academic Chair. Biography Tennenholtz received his B.Sc. in mathematics from Tel Aviv University in 1986, and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in 1987 and 1991 respectively from the Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science in the Weizmann Institute. From 1991 to 1993 he worked in the Robotics Laboratory at Stanford University, after which he joined the faculty at the Technion in Haifa. He returned to Stanford briefly as a visiting professor from 1999 to 2002 before returning to the Technion. Catherine Pelachaud
Catherine Pelachaud is a French computer scientist specializing in human–computer interaction and known for her work virtual assistants and on recognizing and generating facial expressions. She is a director of research for the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), affiliated with the Institut des Systèmes Intelligents et de Robotique (ISIR), a shared research center of CNRS and Sorbonne University. Education and career Pelachaud completed a Ph.D. in computer graphics at the University of Pennsylvania in 1991, jointly supervised by Norman Badler and Mark Steedman. Michael Paul Wellman (born March 27, 1961) is the Richard H. Orenstein Division Chair of Computer Science and Engineering and Lynn A. Conway Collegiate Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Wellman received a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1988 for his work in qualitative probabilistic reasoning and decision-theoretic planning. From 1988 to 1992, Wellman conducted research in these areas at the USAF's Wright Laboratory. Allen Newell (March 19, 1927 – July 19, 1992) was a researcher in computer science and cognitive psychology at the RAND Corporation and at Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Computer Science, Tepper School of Business, and Department of Psychology. He contributed to the Information Processing Language (1956) and two of the earliest AI programs, the Logic Theory Machine (1956) and the General Problem Solver (1957) (with Herbert A. Simon). Joseph Yehuda Halpern (born 1953) is an Israeli-American professor of computer science at Cornell University. Most of his research is on reasoning about knowledge and uncertainty. Biography Halpern graduated in 1975 from University of Toronto with a B.S. in mathematics. He went on to earn a Ph.D. in mathematics from Harvard University in 1981 under the supervision of Albert R. Meyer and Gerald Sacks.
