SHOUTfest
SHOUTfest (also known as ShoutFest) is an annual Christian music festival that features popular Contemporary Christian music acts. Beginning in 2002, SHOUTfest was coordinated by Jeff Roberts Booking Agency, a Christian rock booking agency based in Nashville, Tennessee. The one-day festival traveled around the eastern United States, and typically included games and other activities. SHOUTfest featured bands such as Skillet, Jars of Clay, Rock n Roll Worship Circus, Jeff Deyo, Superchick, Pillar, Jump5, Newsong, Tait, Kevin Max, Natalie Grant, Rebecca St. James, Sonic Flood, Seventh Day Slumber and Flatfoot 56. Pillar (band)
Pillar is an American Christian rock band from Tulsa, consisting of members Rob Beckley, Noah Henson, Michael "Kalel" Wittig, and Lester Estelle II. The band has released nine studio albums, three EPs, and 24 singles since its formation in 1998. History Formation and independent albums (1998–2000) Pillar started in Hays, Kansas in 1998, when Fort Hays State University roommates Brad Noone and Rob Beckley got together with friends Travis Jenkins, Dustin Adams, and Michael Wittig, known as Kalel. A Christian music festival (also known as a Jesus music festival or simply a Jesus festival) is a music festival held by the Christian community, in support of performers of Christian music. The festivals are characterized by more than just music; many feature motivational speakers and evangelists, and include seminars on Christian spiritual and missions topics, service, and evangelism. They are often viewed as evangelical tools, and small festivals can draw 10 times the crowd of traditional revival meetings. Tait was an American Christian rock band formed by Michael Tait, one of the members of dc Talk and the lead singer of Newsboys since 2009. History Pre-formation of Tait (1996–1999) In 1996, dc Talk member Michael Tait met Chad Chapin and the two became close friends and began to write songs together. After a few years, Michael created his own cover band, a funky hard rock group named ''Curious George''. WAAW (94.7 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station licensed to Williston, South Carolina, and serving the Augusta metropolitan area. The station carries an urban gospel radio format with some Christian talk and teaching programs directed at the African-American community. Flatfoot 56 is an American Celtic punk band from Chicago, Illinois, that formed in 2000. The group's use of Scottish Highland bagpipes has led to their classification as a Celtic punk band. History The band formed in summer 2000 as a three-piece punk band. The three original members, who are brothers (Tobin Bawinkel, Justin Bawinkel, and Kyle Bawinkel), started writing songs in fall 2000. By the Christmas season of the same year, they were playing their first concert. Seventh Day Slumber is an American Christian rock band from Dallas, Texas formed in 1996. They were an independent band for five years until they signed with BEC Records in 2005. They are best known for their song "Oceans from the Rain" which was the 14th most played song on Christian CHR radio in 2006 according to the Weekend 22. Their songs have been featured frequently on X the album series. History Joseph Rojas tried to commit suicide following a cocaine binge, and became a Christian while being taken to the hospital in an ambulance. Sonicflood (sometimes stylized as SONICFLOOd) is an American contemporary worship music band from Nashville, Tennessee, that has been touted as "The Fathers of the Modern Worship Movement." The group took the name "Sonicflood", a reference to a line in the Book of Revelation, chapter 19, verse 6. Natalie Diane Grant (born December 21, 1971) is an American singer and songwriter of contemporary Christian music.
