SHL (motorcycle)
SHL is a brand of Polish motorcycles, produced from 1938 until 1970 by Huta Ludwików, later KZWM Polmo-SHL in Kielce (small parties were made in the WFM in Warsaw). Pre-war The Huta Ludwików (''Ludwików Ironworks''), founded in 1919 in Kielce, at first produced hardware and agricultural machines. From 1938 it started production of a motorcycle of its own design, using 98 cm³ British Villiers engines (parts of the engines were locally manufactured). The motorcycle was named SHL 98 - SHL being short for '' Suchedniowska Huta Ludwików'' (''Ludwików Ironworks of Suchedniów'', as the works were initially owned by a foundry in Suchedniów). Fewer than 1,000 motorcycles were manufactured before the outbreak of World War II in 1939 and the German occupation. Sokół 125
Sokół (, English: Falcon), or in full the Polskie Towarzystwo Gimnastyczne "Sokół" ( en, "Falcon" Polish Gymnastic Society), is the Polish offshoot of the Czech Sokol movement, and the oldest youth movement organization of Poland. Created in Lwów in 1867, by the end of World War I the movement had its units – ''gniazda'' ("Nests") – in all parts of Poland, as well as among the Polish communities abroad. The group's goal was to develop fitness, both physically and mentally, with a motto ''mens sana in corpore sano'' ("a fit spirit in a fit body"). History Sokół was formed February 7, 1867 in Lwów, then a capital of Austro-Hungarian Galicia. The basic aims of the society were promotion of gymnastics and national revival in all parts of partitioned Poland. PZL-Świdnik S.A. (''Wytwórnia Sprzętu Komunikacyjnego PZL-Świdnik S.A.'') is the biggest helicopter manufacturer in Poland. Its main products are PZL W-3 Sokół and PZL SW-4 Puszczyk helicopters. In early 2010 the factory was acquired by AgustaWestland, today Leonardo.
