SECMA (Société d'Etude et de Construction de Mecanique Automobile) is a French automobile manufacturer located in Aniche, France. History The company was founded by Daniel Renard in 1995. His first microcar business was Automobiles ERAD, founded in 1975. The design of the first Secma model in 1995 responded to Daniel Renard's desire to create the simplest possible car, for less than 20,000 F at the time (3,000 euros). On 27 May 2009, SECMA's factory was destroyed by fire. The company then moved into new, more modern and functional facilities. In parallel with the production of its flagship model, the Secma F16, in 2012 the Secma Fun Lander was launched. By 2014, around 30,000 Secma and ERAD vehicles had been manufactured - averaging out at about 750 per year since the beginning. Automobiles ERAD
Automobiles ERAD (''Études et Réalisations du Douaisis'', "Concepts and Executions of Douai") was a French manufacturer of microcars. The company was founded by Daniel Renard in 1975, in Douai in northern France. Renard did not have a secondary education, but opened a small garage in Douai in 1967. He built a three-wheeled microcar in his spare time, which gained the attention of a local newspaper. This led to an order of another car by a reader, and the company was born. Series production began in 1978, after the company had moved to bigger premises in the nearby town of Aniche. In 1979 nearly 2400 vehicles were built, while in 1980 employees built 2640. Production came to and end in 1997 (after company funds had been misappropriated by a manager), when Savel (also located in Aniche) bought the company. Secma F16
The Secma F16 is a French Microcar, micro sports car made by SECMA, Secma. It is powered by the Renault K-Type engine#K4M, Renault K4M engine. In 2016, a new version using the turbocharged THP engine from the Peugeot 308 GT was released, called the Secma F16 Turbo. Qpod
The Qpod is an off- and on-road vehicle and is a UK brand of the French company owned SECMA. Created in 1995 by Daniel Renard, the Qpod brand was introduced into the UK by TV personality Noel Edmonds in 2004 and marketed by the Unique Motor Company. There are currently six models of vehicle available. QT, a more "sporty" sister brand, has two additional models. Aniche
Aniche (; pcd, In-niche) is a commune in the Nord department in the Hauts-de-France region of northern France. The commune, located in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais mining area, long lived on the mining of coal with fourteen pits on its territory. Eleven pits were owned by the Aniche Mining Company and three by the ''Compagnie des mines d'Azincourt'' (Agincourt Mining Company).
