SAP Arena
SAP Arena is a multi-purpose arena in Mannheim, Germany. It is primarily used for ice hockey and handball, and is the home arena of the Adler Mannheim ice hockey club and the Rhein-Neckar Löwen handball club. Inaugurated in 2005, the arena has a capacity of up to 15,000 people. More than a hundred concerts and convention events are hosted at the arena annually. The SAP Arena is one of the largest in Germany and one of the most high-tech in Europe. The arena is named after its sponsor SAP. A tram line (number 6) connects the SAP Arena to Mannheim city center and a newly built road connection to the B 38a highway connects it to the A 656 Autobahn, leading to the A656/ A 6 interchange, connecting eastbound Mannheim to Heidelberg (A656), and north-southbound to Frankfurt, Karlsruhe and Stuttgart (A6), as well as a little north on the A6 to Kaiserlautern (westbound). is an autobahn in Germany. It leads from Mannheim-Neckarau to Autobahnkreuz (''motorway junction'') Heidelberg. History The planning for an Autobahn between Mannheim and Heidelberg began as early as 1926. It was taken into account in the planning for the '' HaFraBa'' (Hamburg-Frankfurt-Basel). The motorway was opened in 1935 under the Third Reich as a ''Reichsautobahn''). It originally stretched from the eastern end of Mannheim (Schwetzingerstadt/Oststadt) to Heidelberg (Bergheim), Bergheimer Strasse. The end sections of the autobahn became part of State Highway (''Bundesstrasse'') B 37 in the 1990s, thus shortening the autobahn from its original to . At the same time most of the crossing bridges were torn down and rebuilt with enough space to make room for an emergency lane on both sides. The Delta Machine Tour was a worldwide concert tour by English electronic music band Depeche Mode in support of the group's 13th studio album, ''Delta Machine'', released 22 March 2013. Following a warm-up show in Nice, France on 4 May 2013, the tour kicked off in Tel Aviv, Israel, and continued through Europe until late July. A North American tour followed in late August, beginning in the Detroit suburb of Clarkston, Michigan and culminating in Austin, Texas in early October. Tour of the Universe was a 2009–2010 worldwide concert tour by English electronic band Depeche Mode in support of the group's 12th studio album, ''Sounds of the Universe'', which was released in April 2009. The Live Nation-produced tour, which was announced in October 2008 in Berlin, kicked off with a warm-up show in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg in May 2009. iBeacon is a protocol developed by Apple and introduced at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference in 2013. Various vendors have since made iBeacon-compatible hardware transmitters – typically called beacons – a class of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices that broadcast their identifier to nearby portable electronic devices.
