South African Football Association
The South African Football Association (colloquially known as SAFA) is the national administrative governing body that controls the sport of football in the Republic of South Africa (RSA) and is a member of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). SAFA was established in 1991. The South African Football Association is the second Football Association in South Africa to be named the ''South African Football Association'' and it is also the second football association in South Africa to affiliate to FIFA. The present day South African Football Association, unlike its predecessor allows for a mixed-race national team. SAFA was admitted to FIFA in 1992 and its senior team has since represented South Africa at the Africa Cup of Nations and the FIFA World Cup. During SAFA's time as the FIFA-affiliated football organisation, South Africa has also hosted several editions of the COSAFA Cup, the 1996 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Jermaine "Jay" Seoposenwe (born 12 October 1993) is a South African soccer player who plays as a forward for Mexican Liga MX Femenil club Monterrey and the South Africa women's national team. Club career Gintra Universitetas On 16 April 2019, it was announced that Seoposenwe had signed her first professional contract with Gintra Universitetas in Lithuania, joining them to play in the 2019-20 UEFA Women's Champions League season. Gavin Hunt
Gavin Hunt (born 11 July 1964) is a South African former football (soccer) player and coach who currently manages Supersport United. He previously managed South African Premier Division, Premier Soccer League club Kaizer Chiefs. On 28 May 2021 Kaizer Chiefs released him from his contract after a string of poor results with the club. A nuggety right-back, Hunt spent almost his entire playing career with Hellenic FC, Hellenic. He had to retire because of an achilles tendon injury and went straight into coaching. Janine van Wyk (born 17 April 1987) is a South African professional soccer player who plays as a defender for her own club in South Africa JVW and captains the South Africa women's national team. She is the highest capped player in South Africa with 180 appearances, and highest capped female in CAF. She has played for Houston Dash in the National Women's Soccer League, becoming the first South African player signed to this league. On 18 September 2018, van Wyk earned her 150th cap for the South Africa women's national soccer team, she holds the record as the most capped South African football player of any gender. Steven Jerome Pienaar (; born 17 March 1982) is a South African former professional footballer and current assistant coach of the U18 team of the Ajax Youth Academy. He was a captain of the South African national team. He primarily played as a winger, but also played as an attacking midfielder.
