S6 (ZVV)
The S6 is a regional railway service of the S-Bahn Zürich on the Zürcher Verkehrsverbund (ZVV), Zürich transportation network, and is one of the network's services connecting the cantons of Zürich and Aargau. Route * The service links Baden, in the canton of Aargau to the west of Zürich, and Uetikon, on north shore of Lake Zürich to the east of Zürich. From Baden it runs via the Furttal railway and Regensdorf-Watt to Zürich Oerlikon, and then serves Zurich Hauptbahnhof and Zürich Stadelhofen before running over the Lake Zürich right-bank railway line to its terminus. SBB RABe 514
The RABe 514 is a four-car double decker electrical multiple unit used by the Swiss Federal Railways for the Zürich S-Bahn. It is part of the Siemens Desiro Double Deck product family. The trains are also referred to as DTZ which stands for the German word Doppelstocktriebzug (English: double decker multiple unit). History On 23 February 2003 the Swiss Federal Railways' board of directors decided to give the 447 million CHF contract for building 35 double decker trains to Siemens Transportation Systems. This decision came as a surprise since Siemens had never built double decker EMUs before, except for an experimental train built in a consortium with DWA Görlitz (now Bombardier Transportation) that never entered into service. To fulfill the domestic content requirement in the contract, Siemens reached an agreement with Stadler Rail to perform some of the assembling and the commissioning in their factory in Altenrhein, Switzerland. Buchs-Dällikon is a railway station in Switzerland. The station is situated in the municipality of Buchs, but also serves the adjacent municipality of Dällikon. Both municipalities are situated in the Furttal region in the canton of Zürich. The station is located on the Wettingen-Effretikon railway line (Furttal line). The station should not be confused with Buchs AG railway station (located in Buchs, canton of Aargau) or with Buchs SG railway station (located in Buchs, canton of St. Gallen). Infrastructure Buchs-Dällikon station was completely renewed between 2005 and 2008, and the former station building was removed. Lake Zürich Right-bank Railway Line
The Lake Zürich right-bank railway line (german: Rechtsufrige Zürichseebahn) is a railway line in the Swiss canton of Zürich. As its name suggests, it runs down the right, or east, bank of Lake Zürich, connecting Zürich to Rapperswil. The line was opened in 1894, nineteen years after the complementary left bank railway. As built, it originally departed from the surface level of Zürich Hauptbahnhof station in a westerly direction, before performing a clockwise 270 degrees turn via a viaduct over the River Limmat and the Letten Tunnel to Stadelhofen station. Since 1990 the Letten Tunnel has been closed and replaced by the Hirschengraben Tunnel, which takes a direct easterly route under the River Limmat from new low level platforms at Hauptbahnhof.
