Sérgio Lima
Sérgio Lima (1925–1988) was a Brazilian illustrator and comics artist. In the 1960s, he worked at the publishing house Prelúdio, where he illustrated cordel leaflets and comic books such as ''Juvêncio, o justiceiro do sertão'', as well as adaptations of cordel literature. He also illustrated the comic book biography of Silvio Santos, written by R. F. Lucchetti, as well as horror comics. In the 1970s, he started to create Disney comics at editora Abril and worke in Os Trapalhões comic book. Cordel Literature
Cordel literature (from the Portuguese term, ''literatura de cordel'', literally “string literature”, ) are popular and inexpensively printed booklets or pamphlets containing folk novels, poems and songs. They are produced and sold in street markets and by street vendors in Brazil, mainly in the Northeast. They are so named because they are hung from strings to display them to potential customers, and the word for rope in Portuguese is ''corda'', from which the term ''cordel'' is derived. Universo HQ ("Comics Universe") is a Brazilian website about comics and considered the most important Brazilian information source on comics-related news. History Universo HQ was created by Samir Naliato and first aired on January 5, 2000. After six months, he invited the journalist Sidney Gusman to become the website's editor. Gusman also invited Sérgio Codespoti and Marcelo Naranjo to work with them, followed by many different collaborators during the years. The first journalistic highlight to Universo HQ was in 2000, when artist Jerry Robinson had an infarction during a visit to São Paulo. Senor Abravanel, known professionally as Silvio Santos (Portuguese: /ˈsiwvju ˈsɐ̃tus/) (born December 12, 1930), is a Brazilian entrepreneur, media tycoon and television host. He is the owner of holdings that include SBT, the second largest television network in the country. His net worth was US$3.2 billion in 2020. He is the host of the second longest running Brazilian program: '' Programa Silvio Santos'', aired since 1963. Editora Abril is a major Brazilian publisher and printing company and one of the biggest media holdings in Latin America. The company was founded in 1950 by Victor Civita in São Paulo and is now part of Grupo Abril. Civita had initially founded his publisher as Editora Primavera, publishing an unsuccessful comic magazine named in Brazil ''Raio Vermelho''. The following year, Civita changed its name to Abril - referencing the month in which spring begins on the northern hemisphere - - and published its first title, ''Donald Duck'', in Brazil called ''Pato Donald'', which continues to run to this date. Os Trapalhões
Os Trapalhões () was a Brazilian comedy group and a television series of the same name created by Wilton Franco. Its members were Dedé (Dedé Santana), Zacarias ( Zacarias Gonçalves), Mussum ( Carlinhos Mussum) and their leader Didi Mocó (Renato Aragão). The name ''Os Trapalhões'' (which can be translated as ''The Bumbling Ones'') is derived from the Portuguese verb ''atrapalhar'', which means the opposite of ''helping'', ''to do something the wrong way'' or ''to Those that confuse''. The name is translated "Tramps" in English DVD subtitles. It was originally aired by Rede Globo from 1977 to 1995. Galerie Lambiek is a Dutch comic book store and art gallery in Amsterdam, founded on November 8, 1968 by Kees Kousemaker (, – Bussum, ), though since 2007, his son Boris Kousemaker is the current owner. From 1968 to 2015, it was located in the Kerkstraat, but in November 2015, the store moved to the Koningsstraat 27. As of 2018, Lambiek is the oldest comics store in Europe, and the oldest worldwide still in existence. Master of National Comics ( pt-BR, Mestre do Quadrinho Nacional) is one of the categories of Prêmio Angelo Agostini, the most traditional Brazilian award dedicated to comics that has been held since 1985 by Associação dos Quadrinhistas e Caricaturistas do Estado de São Paulo (AQC-ESP). History The "Master of National Comics" category has been part of Prêmio Angelo Agostini since its first edition, in 1985.
