Sápmi Football Team
The Sápmi football team is a football team representing the Sámi people, who inhabit northern parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia. The team is not a member of UEFA or FIFA, and therefore does not participate in their competitions, though is member of the Confederation of Independent Football Associations. It is organized by FA Sápmi. Tournament history Sápmi participated in the KTFF 50th Anniversary Cup in 2005 in Northern Cyprus, losing matches against Northern Cyprus and Kosovo and finishing third. In November 2006, Sápmi took part in – and won – the inaugural VIVA World Cup in Occitania, organised by the NF-Board. Sápmi overcame both the host nation and Monaco to win the trophy, scoring an impressive 42 goals in 3 games. FA Sápmi is a Association football, football association which is the organizer of the Sápmi football team representing the indigenous Sámi people. It is a member of the Confederation of Independent Football Associations (ConIFA), but not a member of either FIFA or UEFA. President of the FA Sápmi is Håkan Kuorak from Jokkmokk, Sweden. Tromsø Idrettslag is a Norwegian professional football club founded in 1920, based in the city of Tromsø. They play their home games at Alfheim Stadion. Tromsø play in the Eliteserien. Steffen Nystrøm (born 1 July 1984) is a Norwegian football striker. He played for Norild IL, Moss FK, Strømsgodset and Tromsø before joining Fredrikstad. Being part Sápmi, Nystrøm was joint top goalscorer, beside Eirik Lamøy and Tom Høgli, of the 2006 VIVA World Cup with six goals. Tom Høgli (born 24 February 1984) is a Norwegian former professional football defender who last played for Eliteserien side Tromsø. Club career Bodø/Glimt Høgli played several seasons for Bodø/Glimt, whom he joined from ''Skånland og Omegn IF'', but was transferred to Tromsø ahead of the 2007 season. Tromsø Signed by Tromsø IL as a replacement for Patrice Bernier in central midfield, Høgli impressed in the right-back position. Sigurd Rushfeldt
Sigurd Rushfeldt (born 11 December 1972) is a Norwegian football coach and former player who works as an assistant coach for Tromsø. During his playing career, he played for Tromsø, Birmingham City, Rosenborg, Racing de Santander, and Austria Wien. As a forward, he is well known for his strength and for being a prolific goalscorer. Rushfeldt is the all-time top goal scorer of Eliteserien. Rushfeldt scored 246 league goals in his career, including a record 172 in Eliteserien. Morten Gamst Pedersen (born 8 September 1981) is a Norwegian professional footballer who last played as a midfielder for Åsane. Pedersen began his career with Tromsø, then played for English side Blackburn Rovers between 2004 and 2013. He then played for the Turkish side Karabükspor. The 2016 ConIFA World Football Cup was the second edition of the ConIFA World Football Cup, an international football tournament for states, minorities, stateless peoples and regions unaffiliated with FIFA organised by ConIFA. The tournament was hosted by the Football Federation of Abkhazia, with the Abkhazia team becoming the first host nation to win the tournament. 2014 ConIFA World Football Cup
The 2014 ConIFA World Football Cup was the first edition of the ConIFA World Football Cup, an international football tournament for states, minorities, stateless peoples and regions unaffiliated with FIFA organised by ConIFA and a successor of Viva World Cup, last held in 2012. The tournament was hosted by FA Sápmi in the Sápmi region, with all games held in the city of Östersund in Sweden. Tournament Twelve teams took part in the tournament. Catalonia and Rapa Nui were thought to be potential participants, but ultimately declined or withdrew. Padania National Football Team
The Padania representative football team is an unofficial football team that represents Padania, a geographical region composed by the eight regions of Northern Italy. The team is not a member of UEFA, nor is it affiliated with the Italian Football Federation. They have established the Lega Federale Calcio Padania. Padania had gained provisional membership of the NF-Board in 2008 and was able to take part in the 2008 VIVA World Cup along with Arameans Suryoye, Iraqi Kurdistan, Provence and Sápmi, which they won beating the Arameans Suryoye football team in the final by 2–0. Padania retained their crown when they hosted the 2009 finals, beating Kurdistan in the final. They defeated the Kurds again in 2010 to lift their third VIVA World Cup.
