Hungarian () is an Uralic language spoken in Hungary and parts of several neighbouring countries. It is the official language of Hungary and one of the 24 official languages of the European Union. Gabriel Szondy
Gabriel Szondy is an Australian accountant in the taxation and superannuation industries. Szondy is, however, best known for being a former president of the Melbourne Football Club. He is currently the Chair of the Centre for Institutional Investors (CII) and is an independent Director of CareSuper, on Military Super's Board of Trustees and is Chair of the Board of Frontier Advisors. Previously Szondy has been a senior accounting partner at PriceWaterhouesCoopers and head of their Melbourne-based superannuation tax practice. He has also been Chairman of Association of Superannuation Funds in Australia's (ASFA) National Taxation Policy Committee, Chairman of the ASFA's Victorian Executive for 12 years. György Szondy
György Szondy was a Hungarian soldier and the captain of Drégely Castle. He was a respected soldier, even by his Turkish foes, whose recognition can be seen by his burial by Hadim Ali Pasha with full military honours. Family Szondy's origin is obscure. Hontvármegye, and he either came from a peasant or a civic family. According to other sources, he was a yeoman of Turóc County with original name Juraj Šucha. After the sudden death of his mother he joined the army at the age of 15 with his younger brother Jakab where he met Ferenc Révay, a general officer from a prominent Hungarian noble family. Révay saw great potential in Szondy and took him under his wing. Révay made Szondy into a lieutenant of the Hungarian Hussars at the age of 21. After taking part in campaigns against the Ottoman Turks in Serbia and Transylvania, where he and his brother both served, Szondy decided that he should spend the rest of his service as an infantryman. Léopold Szondi
Léopold Szondi ( hu, Szondi Lipót ; March 11, 1893 – January 24, 1986) was a Hungarian psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, psychopathologist and Professor of psychology. Founder of the concept of fate analysis. He is known for the psychological tool that bears his name, the Szondi test. The achievements of the scientist are: The Szondi test, Fate analysis and Fate psychology. Biography Szondi was born in city of Nyitra (in present-day Slovakia) and raised in a German and Slovak-speaking Jewish family. The original name of the family was Sonnenschein. He was born as the twelfth child in his father's second marriage. The family moved to Budapest in 1898. His mother, who died very soon, was remembered by the family as an illiterate, unwholesome woman who had to be supervised by the elder siblings during her depressive periods. Péter Szondi
Péter Szondi (; 27 May 1929, Budapest – 18 October 1971, Berlin) was a celebrated literary scholar and philologist, originally from Hungary. Biography Szondi's father was the Hungarian-Jewish psychiatrist and psychoanalyst Léopold Szondi, who settled in Switzerland after his 1944 release after five months in Bergen-Belsen. In 1965, Péter became a Professor at the Free University of Berlin, where he led the Institute for General and Comparative Literature. His fields were the history of literature and comparative literature. He committed suicide in 1971 by drowning himself in the Halensee in Berlin on 18 October, leaving unfinished his book about the work of his friend Paul Celan, who had killed himself the year before. Sandor Szondi
Sandor Szondi (25 August 1920 – 9 July 1997) was a Flemish politician of Hungarian descent. He grew up in a Flemish foster family and was naturalized Belgian because of his merits as a member of the resistance during the Second World War. He studied law and chose a career at the Ministry of Transport. Due to his experiences as a civil servant in Brussels, he felt the treatment of Flemings by the French speakers was unjust. This caused him to take an initiative to improve the situation of native Dutch speakers in the capital city of Belgium. He founded the ''Verbond van Vlaams Overheidspersoneel'', 'Union of Flemish civil servants', and the ''Centraal Secretariaat van Vlaamse Verenigingen'', 'Central Secretariat for the Flemish Associations'. He was also an editor of several magazines and additionally made his point clear in speeches and letters he wrote to newspapers.
