Syrian Basketball League
The Syrian Basketball League ( ar, الدوري السوري لكرة السلة) is the top-tier professional men's basketball league in Syria. It is organized annually as a national championship with playoffs and a national cup by the Syrian Basketball Federation. Both Aleppo teams, Jalaa SC and Al-Ittihad SC, dominated the league until 1993. History Jalaa SC, previously known as Shabibeh, dominated the league from 1956 until 1978. Then another team from Aleppo, Al-Ittihad SC, took all the titles until 1993. Later on, Damascus clubs Al Wahda and Al-Jaish SC won some titles sporadically. In 2021, for the first time in SBL history, the league was won by a club from the city of Homs, Al-Karamah SC. Syrian Basketball Federation
The Syrian Basketball Federation is the governing body of basketball in Syria. It organizes national professional championships men, women and youth, while it is also responsible for holding the cup of the country. It also coordinates the Syria men's national basketball team and the Syria women's national basketball team. The federation founded in 1947, represents basketball with public authorities as well as with national and international sports organizations and as such with Syria in international competitions. It also defends the moral and material interests of Basketball in Syria. It is affiliated with FIBA and FIBA Asia. As of early December 2021, the president has been Taríf Koutrach. Playoff Format
There are a number of formats used in various levels of competition in sports and games to determine an overall champion. The company slogan is ''Fly Beyond The Limits.'' History Cham Wings Airlines was established on 9 July 2006 as the first private airline in Syria by independent Syrian businessman Issam Shammout. The main hub for the airline is Damascus International Airport. Sinalco is a popular brand of non-alcoholic drinks first marketed in 1902, with sales in now more than 40 countries. Sinalco is the oldest soft drink brand in Europe. It is produced by Sinalco International, a company headquartered in Detmold, Germany.
