Sylvain Légaré
Sylvain Légaré (born October 22, 1970) is a politician in Quebec, Canada. He was an Action démocratique du Québec (ADQ) Member of the National Assembly of Quebec (MNA) for the Vanier riding from 2004 to 2008. Born in Quebec City, Quebec, Légaré studied financial planning at the Université Laval and TELUQ, graduating in 2000, and has worked as a financial advisor since 1999. He owned a financial service firm in 2003. He also worked at Environment Canada as a weather observer from 1997 to 1999. He was president of the Charlesbourg Arts Society, co-founder and member of the ADQ's riding association in Vanier, ADQ regional advisor for the Greater Québec region September 2003 to 2004, a logistics adviser for Biathlon Canada (2002–2004), and was a reservist in the 58th Air Defence Battalion of the Canadian Forces for a very short time. Régis Labeaume (born May 2, 1956) is a Canadians, Canadian businessman, writer and politician. He served as mayor of Quebec City from 2007 to 2021. He was first elected on December 2, 2007 after the death of former mayor Andrée Boucher. He was reelected in 2009, 2013, and 2017. Early life Labeaume holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from the Université Laval. Prior to being mayor, Labeaume was a local businessman and chair of the Fondation de l’entrepreneurship organisation since 2003 and worked primarily in the mining industry. The 2008 Quebec general election was held in the Canada, Canadian Provinces and territories of Canada, province of Quebec on December 8, 2008. The Quebec Liberal Party, under incumbent Premier Jean Charest, was re-elected with a majority government, marking the first time since the 1950s (when the Union Nationale (Quebec), Union Nationale of Maurice Duplessis won four consecutive elections) that a party or leader was elected to a third consecutive mandate, and the first time for the Liberals since the 1930s, when Louis-Alexandre Taschereau was Premier. Mario Dumont (born May 19, 1970) is a Canadian television personality and former politician in Quebec, Canada. He was a Member of the National Assembly of Quebec (MNA), and the leader of the Action démocratique du Québec (ADQ), from 1994 to 2009. After the 2007 Quebec election, Dumont obtained the post of Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly.
