Syd Nelson
Sydney George Nelson (December 9, 1932 – July 10, 2021) was an American politician in the state of Minnesota. He served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1991 to 1992 and from 1993 to 1994. He was previously a Wadena County, Minnesota county commissioner, serving from 1986 to 1991. Paddock Township is a township in Otter Tail County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 323 at the 2000 census. Paddock Township was organized in 1882, and named for L. A. Paddock, the owner of a sawmill. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 35.8 square miles (92.6 km), of which 35.7 square miles (92.5 km) is land and 0.1 square mile (0.2 km) (0.17%) is water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 323 people, 108 households, and 84 families living in the township. The population density was 9.0 people per square mile (3.5/km). There were 128 housing units at an average density of 3.6/sq mi (1.4/km). The racial makeup of the township was 97.52% White, 0.62% Native American, and 1.86% from two or more races. Sebeka, Minnesota
Sebeka ( ) is a city in Wadena County, Minnesota, United States. Its population was 711 at the 2010 census. The name comes from an Ojibwe word meaning "town by the water". U.S. Highway 71, State Highway 227, and the historic Jefferson Highway (now Jefferson Avenue), are three of the main routes in the city. History Sebeka originally grew around the depot of the K-line branch of the Great Northern Railway, which first came through the area in 1892. The first major industry in the area was logging. Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party
The Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL) is the Minnesota affiliate of the U.S. Democratic Party. As of 2022, it controls four of Minnesota's eight U.S. House seats, both of its U.S. Senate seats, the Minnesota House of Representatives, and all other statewide offices, including the governorship. Beginning in 2023, the party will also control the Minnesota Senate, giving it full control of state government. Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) is a public university in Moorhead, Minnesota. The school has an enrollment of 7,534 students in 2019 and 266 full-time faculty members. MSUM is a part of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system.
