The FIBA 3x3 World Cup is a 3x3 basketball tournament for national teams organized by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). The debut of the tournament then named as the FIBA 3x3 World Championship was held in August 2012 in Athens, Greece. The current champions are Serbia in the men's division and France in the women's division. There are two events in the tournament; one for men and another for women. In the first edition, there was a mixed event where each team was composed of 2 men and 2 women. FIBA Europe 3x3 Championships
The FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup had its inaugural tournament in 2014 in Bucharest, Romania. There are two events in the championship, one men's event and one women's event. Each team has four players (three on court and one on the bench). The match is played on a half court and every rule applies as well as a 12-second shot clock and clearance needed on a new possession. Swiss Basketball is the governing sports body of the top-tier level professional basketball leagues in Switzerland. Established in 1929, the organization has its headquarters in Fribourg. Swiss Basketball also manages the Swiss national teams, the Swiss Federation Cup, and the Swiss Youth Championships. Swiss Basketball currently has more than 17,000 members, from its nine regional associations, comprising 185 clubs. 2012 FIBA 3x3 World Championships
The 2012 FIBA 3x3 World Championships, hosted by Greece, was the first edition of the FIBA 3x3 World Championships, an international 3x3 basketball event that featured separate competitions for men's, women's and mixed national teams. The tournament ran from 23 August to 26 August 2012, held in front of the Zappeion. It was co-organized by the FIBA. Serbia won the men's title after defeating France 16–13 in the men's final. The US won the women's title after defeating France in the final, while France defeated Argentina for the mixed team final.
