Light of the World are a British jazz-funk band. Biography The band was formed in London in 1978. They were originally a forerunner of the late 1970s/early 1980s British jazz-funk movement. The band's name is taken from the 1974 Kool and the Gang album, '' Light of Worlds''. The original line-up consisted of Jean-Paul Maunick, drummer Everton McCalla, bassist Paul Williams, guitarist Neville McKreith, percussionist Chris Etienne, keyboardist Peter Hinds, trumpet player Kenny Wellington and saxophonist David Baptiste. "Swangin" is a song by American hip hop music, hip hop recording artist Stalley, released on March 26, 2013, as the first single from his debut EP. The song, Hip hop production, produced by Block Beattaz, features a guest appearance from hip hop legend Scarface (rapper), Scarface. Background "Swangin" is a tribute to Houston's classic car culture, Stalley explained. "I know they're real heavy into the Cadillacs and the American muscle cars and the old-schools like we [in Ohio] are. The Swingers
The Swingers were a New Zealand rock band who were together from 1979 to 1982 and whose biggest single was the song " Counting the Beat". Background Formed out of the remnants of the Suburban Reptiles, the founding members were Phil Judd (guitar, vocals), Wayne Stevens ( Bones Hillman) (bass), and Mark Hough (a.k.a. Buster Stiggs) (drums). Formed in 1979, the band released the single "One Good Reason", which was a top 20 hit in New Zealand. They also appeared on the Ripper Records sampler ''AK79'' and established a large live following after a residency at Auckland's Liberty Stage club. In 1980 the band moved to Australia and signed to Mushroom Records for that country, although their New Zealand releases remained on Ripper.
