Piscines Bernat Picornell ( en, Bernat Picornell Pools) is a swimming venue situated in the Olympic Ring in Montjuïc, Barcelona. The venue consists of three swimming pools: a 50m indoor pool, a 50m outdoor pool, and a pool for diving. It hosted the swimming events, synchronized swimming events, the water polo final, and the swimming part of the modern pentathlon event for the 1992 Summer Olympics. Danyon Joseph Loader (born 21 April 1975) is an Olympic champion, former world record holder swimmer from New Zealand, based in Dunedin. He remains the national record holder in the 400 metre freestyle short course. He swam for New Zealand at two Summer Olympics (1992, 1996) and three Commonwealth Games (1990, 1994 and 1998). At the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, he garnered a silver medal in the 200 metre butterfly. In 1996 in Atlanta, Loader won two gold medals: in the 200 and 400 metre freestyle. Daniel Ploug Jorgensen (born April 4, 1968) is an American former competition swimmer who represented the United States at two consecutive Olympic Games. Career At the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, he earned a gold medal by swimming for the winning U.S. team in the men's 4×200-meter freestyle relay. Individually, he also competed in the B Final of the men's 400-meter freestyle and finished fourteenth overall (3:55.34). Four years later at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, Jorgensen again swam in the preliminary heats of the men's 4×200-meter freestyle relay, and received a bronze medal when the U.S. team placed third in the event final. Paul Palmer (born 18 October 1974 in Lincoln, England) is a former international freestyle swimmer for England and Great Britain. Swimming career Coached by Ian Turner at the City of Lincoln Pentaqua Swimming Club, Palmer qualified for the 200 m, 400 m and 1500 m freestyle at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, finishing a respectable 9th position (winning the "B" final) in the 200 m, and 10th position in the 400 m.
