Borut Petrič
Borut Petrič (born 28 December 1961 in Kranj, Slovenia) is a former Yugoslav freestyle swimmer, who represented Yugoslavia in three consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1976. A brother of swimmer Darjan Petrič, he won the silver medal in the men's 1500 m freestyle at the 1978 World Aquatics Championships in Berlin. Vladimir Valeryevich Salnikov (russian: Владимир Валерьевич Сальников; born 21 May 1960) is a Russian former freestyle swimmer who competed for the Soviet Union and set 12 world records in the 400, 800 and 1,500 meter events. Nicknamed the "Tsar of the Pool" but also the "Monster of the Waves" or simply the "Leningrad Express", he was the first person to swim under fifteen minutes in the 1500 m freestyle and also the first person to swim under eight minutes in the 800 m freestyle. Steve Badger (swimmer)
Stephen William Badger (born 19 October 1956) is a former competitive swimmer who represented Australia in the 1973 World Swimming Championships and the 1974 Commonwealth Games, and Canada in the 1976 Summer Olympics. He achieved FINA World Top 20 Rankings from 1973 to 1977 and again in the years 1979–80. He missed selection in the 1978 Canadian Commonwealth Games team due to a bout of glandular fever. After representing Australia in the 1973 World Championships and the 1974 Commonwealth Games, he moved to Canada in late 1974. He sought selection in the Canadian Olympic Team for the 1976 Games in Montreal. Whilst competing at the Canadian Olympic Trials Stephen was placed under police protection due to death threats. Stephen Roy Holland, OAM (born 31 May 1958) is an Australian former freestyle swimmer of the 1970s who won a bronze medal in the 1500 m freestyle at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. In a brief and spectacular career, he broke 12 world records and was known as the ''Super Fish'' after his coach Laurie Lawrence likened his two-beat kick to the tail of a fish.
