Swedish Women's Football Division 1
Division 1 ( sv, Division 1 i fotboll för damer) is the third level in the league system of Swedish women's football and has six sections with 12 football teams in each. From 1978 to 1987, when the Damallsvenskan was created, it was the highest level of football in Sweden. Until 2013, when the Elitettan was created, it was the second highest level. The Swedish football league system is a series of interconnected leagues for club football in Sweden which is controlled by the Swedish Football Association The Swedish Football Association ( sv, Svenska Fotbollförbundet, SvFF) is the governing and body of football in Sweden. Sandvikens IF
Sandvikens IF is a Swedish football club located in Sandviken. The club, formed 6 June 1918, has played 21 seasons in the highest Swedish league, but is in the third highest Swedish league, Division 1. Sandvikens IF are affiliated to the Gestriklands Fotbollförbund. As Sandviken is an industrial community, dominated by the steel and metal corporation Sandvik, the team has been much influenced by this. Husqvarna FF is a football club in Huskvarna, Sweden. The team is sponsored by the Husqvarna AB. History Husqvarna FF was founded on 3 February 1987 following the merger of the men's association football sections of Husqvarna IF and Huskvarna Södra IS. In its early years the new club played in Divisions 2 and 3. The club's fortunes improved in 1998 when the club finished with nine points ahead of Myresjö IF to win Division 2 Östra Götaland and gain promotion to Division 1 Södra, the second tier of Swedish football. However their stay in Division 1 was short-lived and they were relegated at the end of the 1999 season. Since 2006 the club has been playing in Division 1 Södra which is now the third tier of the Swedish football league system except the 2012 season when they played in Division 2 Östra Götaland. Tyresö Fotbollsförening is a Swedish football club in Tyresö, a municipality in Stockholm County. Karlbergs BK is a Swedish football club originating from Karlberg in Birkastaden, an area in the southwestern part of Vasastan in central Stockholm. IFK Lidingö is a Swedish sports club, part of the IFK system, based on the island of Lidingö outside Stockholm. Borens IK is a Swedish football club located in Motala in Östergötland County. Background Borens Idrottsklubb were founded on 25 May 1932 by men who previously played for other Motala football clubs.
