Sweden National Under-21 Football Team
The Sweden national under-21 football team is the football team representing Sweden in competitions for under-21 year old players and is controlled by the Swedish Football Association. The Swedish U21 team came into existence, following the realignment of UEFA European Under-23 Championship, which changed to be an Under-21 competition in 1978. Sweden made their first European Under-21 Championship appearance in 1986. In 2015, Sweden became champions for the first time. They finished second in 1992 and they also reached the semi-finals in 1990 and 2009. Oscar Hiljemark is the most capped player for the Swedish U21 team, having played 37 caps between 2011 and 2015. Ola Toivonen and Carlos Strandberg are the best goalscorers for the Swedish U21 team, having scored 13 goals each. Sweden National Under-20 Football Team
The Sweden national under-20 football team is the football team representing Sweden in FIFA U-20 World Cup and is controlled by the Swedish Football Association. Sweden made their first and so far only FIFA U-20 World Cup appearance in 1991 and was knocked out in the group stage. The qualification to the FIFA U-20 World Cup for the European teams is the European Under-19 Championship. Therefore, the Swedish Under-20 team doesn't formally play any qualification matches. In 1991 the team was managed by Ulf Lyfors. FIFA U-20 World Cup
The FIFA U-20 World Cup is the biennial football world championship tournament for FIFA members’ men's national teams with players under the age of 20. The competition has been staged every two years since the inaugural tournament in 1977 when it was hosted by Tunisia, under the tournament name of FIFA World Youth Championship until 2005. In 2007 the name was changed to its present form. The current title holder is Ukraine which won its first title at the 2019 tournament in Poland. History In the twenty-two tournament editions staged, eleven different nations have won the title. Argentina U20 is the most successful team with six titles, followed by BrazilU20 with five titles. Sweden National Under-17 Football Team
The Sweden national under-17 football team ( sv, svenska pojklandslaget i fotboll) is the football team representing Sweden in competitions for under-17-year-old players. The Swedish U17 team came into existence following the realignment of the UEFA European Under-16 Championship, which changed to be an under-17 competition in 2002. In the 2013 UEFA European Under-17 Championship, Sweden reached the semi-finals where they were knocked out on penalties by Russia. In the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup they finished in third place after beating Argentina with 4–1 in the third-place match. Valmir Berisha scored three goals in the match and thus became the top scorer of the tournament.
