Sweden At The 2002 Winter Olympics
Sweden competed at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, United States. Sweden won seven medals; two silver and five bronze. For the first time ever Sweden failed to win gold medals in two straight Winter Olympic Games. On the other hand, they did manage to win medals in five different Winter Olympic sports for the first time, beating the previous record of four sports. The Swedish Olympic Committee (SOC) ( sv, Sveriges Olympiska Kommitté (SOK)) is the Swedish National Olympic Committee (NOC). Danijela Rundqvist
Danijela Kristina Rundqvist (born 26 September 1984) is a Swedish retired ice hockey player and three time Olympian with the Sweden women's national ice hockey team, Swedish national ice hockey team. Playing career Rundqvist plays hockey at the Forward (ice hockey), forward position. She was trained in Kälvesta SK. In 2001, she joined AIK IF. Historically, the club won national championships in 2004, 2007 and 2009, as well as the IIHF European Women's Champions Cup in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008. Maria Rooth
Maria Elisabeth Rooth (born 2 November 1979 in Ängelholm, Sweden) is a retired Swedish ice hockey player. She is the only University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey player to have her jersey retired. Rooth was alternate captain and one of the most experienced players on the Swedish national team beginning in 1996. In 2015, Rooth was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame. Playing career NCAA Rooth played collegiate hockey for the Minnesota–Duluth Bulldogs women's ice hockey program.
